Chapter 27

Jason/Alex's POV

I was slicing tree roots as the earth angels used their power to attack us.

Blood was everywhere and so was feathers. I hadn't seen Kentaro anywhere and really hoped he was alive.

I sliced down another earth angel as they tried to attack me head on. I knew landing on the ground would be my downfall, so I kept myself in the air until a root shot up at me and hit me through the wing.

Shit. I started falling until I was in warm conformting arms.

Kentaro was there looking angered that I was injured. He tried to get close to my people to hand me back, but they just tried to kill us both.

"Damn it!" he yelled and flew me to the ground. He used his power to cover us both with tree roots, so we couldn't get inured.

"Stay put and don't make a noise." Kentaro whispered as he got up. Blood his and of my people were spread all over his body. His shirt must have been ripped off of him and his jeans were torn. He looked just edible.

I grabbed his arm and pulled him into a deep kiss before he flew out of the sheild of roots. I watched out of the cracks, as the battle kept waging on. I stayed in there for what seemed like days until the roots started to rot away and broke around me.

When roots of the earth angel dies, it's either because we used our power or the earth angel died. I looked around and found none of my kind around. I looked at my wing and it was healed, not perfectly but healed. I flew up to the sky and tried to find Kentaro.

There on the ground near a tree that we wrote our intials in was Kentaro. The tree was begining to wilt and the branches were falling randomly.

I flew to him and saw he had been touched by our wilt magic. "Kentaro!" I yelled as I got to him. It was probably stupid of me to fly at an injured earth angel without being more cautous. Roots shot up and penetrated through my chest. Pain exploded through me and I tumbled to him.

Somehow Kentaro caught me looked at me in shock. "Alex." Kentaro whispered tears running out of his eyes. "I'm sorry..."

I looked at him with a smile and kissed him deeply. "See you in another life." I slowly felt the energy draining out of me.
