I woke up on a chilly August morning, alarm clock yelling at me to wake up. Today is the first day back to school and my first day as a junior in high school. I forced myself out of bed and looked in the mirror "Holy shit talk about bed head" I said as I quickly grabbed for my brush. I look back into the mirror at myself, green eyes, short black hair, and a smile to die for.

The thing is I wouldn't be as charming as I am if it wasn't for my little secret. You see, I'm different, most people think "oh different" like a high IQ or a third nipple, but no, I'm a wizard. It sounds strange but I'm not alone, there are many more people who are "different" and not exactly the same as me. Those stories you read about vampires, werewolves, fairies, and sirens are all true. Some of my best friends hide secrets like me to avoid being outcasted and treated like a freak. The perks we have are we are beautiful and we don't have physical flaws like humans, but we have just as many flaws on the inside.

I hear my mom yelling for me to get ready or I'm gonna be late for the first day. I grab a pair of dark blue jeans and light blue tank top and then tie up my boots and I'm ready to go. I grab my book bag and keys and head to the kitchen and see my mom cooking food and my dad sitting at the table eating. "Thank god your awake, your foods gonna get cold" she says as she hands me a plate of her specialty dish, biscuit and gravy. I sit and hang my book bag on the chair not passing up breakfast of course and dig in.

While I finish I look at the clock and notice it's 7. "Oh shit I gotta go" I say jumping out of my chair, I give my mom a hug and a kiss on the cheek and tell her and my dad I love them as I ran out to my car and climbed in the driver seat and closed the door.

"It's about time you got here" a voice I know comes from the passengers seat "at least you weren't early, I had to put on a shit ton of SPF 1000."

In my passengers seat is my best friend Cara Monroe or as everyone calls her, Monroe. School bitch, vixen, and heartbreaker, but I'm the one who gets to call her my best friend. If you can tell by the SPF 1000, Monroe here is a vampire and isn't very fond of the sun.

"I can tell" I take glob of the white substance from her long red wavy hair "is this sunscreen or did Kyle visit last night."

Kyle is Monroe's smoking hot, bad ass boyfriend. He had long black hair down to his shoulder, which a part covered his one eye. Muscles and a jawline for days. Blue eyes like a crystal pond and an attitude that could put you into shock.

"Fuck you" she say smacking my hand "I clean up well."

I laugh putting the keys into the ignition and start driving to school.

"So you ready for the first day of hell." I say in sarcastic tone.

"Shut the fuck up, I miss my beanbag already." She said with a pouty face.

We pull up to the school but to me something feels off, I don't know why but somethings not right. I look for a parking spot and I see Kyle's motorcycle parked near some trees. I pull up next to his bike but no Kyle.

"Where the fuck is that little bastard?" Monroe said.

Just a moment after the car shakes as someone jumps on the trunk. I look back and see Kyle in all his goofball glory.

"Hey fuck wad" Monroe says as she grabs him and kisses him hard.

"Where have you guys been, class is about to start and Lee wanted us to meet them at the choir room." Kyle says as he puts his arm around Monroe's waist and pulls her along as I follow him to the choir room.

Lee is one of me and Monroe's oldest friends that we have known since 4th grade. They have an amazing voice and it only helps the fact that they are a siren. They have brown eyes that shine in the sun and short black hair that frames there face perfectly.

We enter the choir room only to hear Lee singing a beautiful opera song that gave me goosebumps.

They turn around and see us enter "15 minutes before the bell rings, you couldn't have gotten here faster." Lee says walking over grabbing us all into a group hug "I missed you guys."

"I missed you too honey." I say as I feel my phone vibrate in my pocket, it's a message from my friend Vanessa saying "I need to talk to you NOW!!!" I message her telling her I'm in the choir room with Lee, Monroe, and Kyle and to meet us here.

Vanessa is one of my really good friends who is a senior. She is also the only other wizard at this school I know of. She has brown eyes and long frizzy hair to match. She is one of the smartest people I know and although she only found out she was a wizard her Sophmore year while I found out when I was 9, she still seemed to know more details about everything than I did, but I had more training.

With 10 minutes to spare till the bell rings Vanessa walks into the room with Stella by her side and they both seemed worried.

Stella is another good friend of mine who is a Senior and though she is blonde and beautiful with her lake blue eyes, she is a conniving pixie. She loves to wreck shit and act innocent but she had always been loyal and trustworthy to me and our friends.

"Aiden, we need to talk to you privately, it's VERY important." Vanessa says as I walk over to them and talk to them by the door. "Did you feel something strange when you drove in this morning." She asks me which sends shivers down my back.

"Actually I did, what's up?" I said answering her question.

"My fucking wings started coming out of my back out of nowhere and I had to hide in the bathroom till Vanessa got here." Stella said, pissed off and scared.

"What!" I said in a not so hushed tone which turned some faces in my direction.

"I got here and I had to figure out a spell that would make them go back in, she couldn't do it on her own." Vanessa said scared and worried.

The bell rang and people started filling the halls.

"We will talk about this later"
I say to Vanessa and she nods her head in approval as I head to my first class.
