∞ Chapter 3 ∞
I walked straight down the hallway to my purple locker that I personalised at the start of the year. It had daisies, cute little panda stickers on the door and -
That’s beside the point! I walked straight to my locker, where my three best friends were standing, Emma, Darcy and Miranda. All four of us girls are sooooooo different, I don’t know how we stand each other! Emma is very controlling and super smart but she’s also really protective of her friends. Darcy has always been the quiet one in the bunch and always getting herself into a mess, only for us to clean her up. And lastly Miranda. Miranda has always been known as someone who tries to impress others, whether it’s wearing a striped vest on the science festival to impress the teachers, or wearing revealing outfits on free dress day, purely to impress the boys at my school.
Every morning, after we empty the contents of our bags into our locker and grab the books and things we need for class, we walk down to the school cafeteria and eat breakfast.
“Have you guys finish your English poster yet?” Emma asked.
“Its due next Monday, why would I finish it a week early?” said Darcy.
“Darcy! Will you ever learn?”
“What’s that supposed to mean!”
“It’s due today! Ms T told us specifically that it had to be done by this Monday!”
“Are you kidding me!?!?”
“No, I’m not”
“Jeez Louise,”
We sat down to eat our breakfast when all of a sudden,
“Eek!” Miranda squealed
“Settle down Miranda,” Emma said in a hushed voice, “people are starting to stare at us.”
“This is squeal worthy,” Miranda turned around the school newsletter that she was reading, so that we could all see.
“Each year 9 homeroom is getting a class pet?” I asked.
“No, why would I care about year 9’s?”
“The lady at the front desk is going on long service leave?” asked Emma.
“No No No, last paragraph on the first page” Mranda said, frustated.
Darcy took the newsletter and read it out to us
“In other notices, there will be a new student joining year 10 on Monday, his name is Jason Daniels, and he will be joining 10C. Please make him feel welcome into this community by introducing yourself and – “
“Ok we get the idea” I said
“Omg we should totally hook him up with someone!” Miranda squealed, “I’m keeping myself available for peter, he’ll come to his senses sooner or later, Emma would rather eat a snail that feel her emotions go down the drain of love,”
“Thanks Miranda” Emma said in a flat tone.
“Catharine turned down Colin Greenwood, so that’s an uphill battle that leaves ... DARCY!”
“Oh gosh really?” Darcy asked in an uninterested tone.
“Yes really! We’re going to get you a date!”
