Jamal
"Well look what the fuck we got here?!" I said with an evil smirk on my face. Just before I could let them in, I felt a slap across my face."You a dead muthafucka! I swear on my dead cousin head that you really gone die this time!"
"I'd advise you to calm down, we gotta get my bruhh back." Tyrone says with hurt and disappointment.
"Can we get this shit over with so you could get what you all really came for and vice versa?" I said annoyed.
They all nodded their heads as I lead them into the room that Tyriek was in.
Travis
"Babe, I've looked everywhere back here. She is not here!" Keanna said."Keep yo fuckin voice down before you get us caught. Shit now we gone have to improvise, follow me."
We walked quickly and quietly down the long hallway to hear a conversation between what sounded like the nigga and female who got us here.
"Okay ma, you can remove the mask now." The nigga said.
"Remember me bitch?!" The woman says.
Keisha
"Well of course I do, Ms. Tiana." I said."Not you, I was talking to Janelle."
"Well I don't even know you, this must be some kind of mistake. I don't know you."
"Well let me refresh your memory. Tiana Brown, we went to Palm Bay High School together."
"And you're saying that to say what?"
The tension was so thick in this room, you could cut it with a butter knife. Something just wasn't sitting right with me and Tyriek looked at me like he was burning a whole in my chest. It's like we have been around each other for so long, he could feel everything I feel.
"Oh nothing, I just thought that would help a bit. But I see it didn't so let's fast forward a few years. When I got married to my now deceased husband Jonathan Brown."
"Oh fuck, Tiana please it was a long time ago! Get the hell over it." Janelle said.
While they were going back and forth at each other, all we could do was sit back with blank stares.
Janelle
"Get over it? Get over it?! Oh sure, I'll get over it when you tell my son that your son killed his father!""Mom what the hell is she talking about?!"
"Watch your mouth, we can talk about this when we leave!"
"No, now I have a right to know. What is she talking about I killed fuck boy father?"
"Tyriek... While she was married to John, which I didn't know until a little while after might I add. I met him at FLA nightclub. He was so sweet and down to earth. We went on a couple a dates but he never wore a ring. I asked him if he was seeing anyone and he would always say no. But while I was messing with John, I was also messing with your real father Tyriek SR. It was just easier to tell you that John was your father because your dad was never around and he never cared for me like John did."
"So what are you saying?"
"I'm saying that when I got pregnant, I didn't know who's it was but since I wanted John to stay with me, I said you were his. But in my heart, I knew you were Tyriek's so I named you after him and just had John think you had his last name."
"Wait, you told me dad died over seas in Afghanistan? From some kind of disease." Jamal said.
"Well of course not, you're dad don't have the balls to even remotely fight in no damn war. He's a sick piece of shit and so is Janelle." Tiana says as she points the gun to my chest. I was trying to be strong as the tears rolled down my face. My son had anger in his eyes and didn't even look my way. She cocked the gun and was about to shoot until..
Jamal
POP POP POP!I can't believe my mother lied to me for all these years. But it had to be done. There was no way I could let her shoot Janelle. Something just told me I had to.
As I was untying Tyriek and Janelle, I see people running down the hallway.
Keanna
"Get away from them!" I scream while pointing the gun at Jamal."Baby girl its okay *laughs* he with us now." Keisha says.
As they're telling me what happened in the car as we are all riding home, I see Ms. Janelle in the back seat crying. She looked about something but all I know is, I get to spend the night at my baby's house.
Tyriek
All these lies, all these secrets and shit. But something still giving me a weird feeling. Jamal still ain't wrapped too tight with me, but I'm gone spare him. He saved me and my mother's lives although I don't even know if hers is worth saving right now."Tyriek I-" mom says.
"Just save it for when we go home." I say frustrated. To be honest, I just want to go home and lay up while watching movies with Keisha and finish the day we could've started.
"Hun, I think I'm going to go home so that you and mom could talk." Keisha said.
"Noo, please... I can't and don't want to talk to her right now."
"That's your problem, you run away and hold grudges on your problems instead of solving them."
"Okay babe, I'll do it for YOU."
"Thank you. Just promise to keep an open mind. You never know, whatever she did could've saved you from something more dangerous than even this situation here."
Listening to Keisha really do got me thinking bout this. But an open mind, she can forget about it. She didn't use her mind at all when it came to knowing my real father. Why should I even give her the time of day?
This is going to be a long ride home.
