Chapter 3

Kate's p.o.v

We walked to the far side of the beach where it seemed like there was way less people. They had all of their things together, and it was a nice quiet spot by the rock that offered a really good place of protection from the blazing sun overhead. And that was great because the heat added with a thick varsity jacket and I could feel myself sweating up a storm.

"Do you want to go swimming?" Roc asked, then looked back to the water as if just waiting for me to say Yes so he could race down there.

"No thank you"I told them politely,

"c'mon, aren't you even a tiny bit hot in that jacket?" ray asked, then made a move to remove it from around my body,  but I was quicker and managed to get up and move a couple steps back from them. They all gave me puzzled looks, but I let my head look towards the ground and allowed my hair to cover my face.

"i'm just, uhm, kinda nervous about my body so i dont really wanna take it off" i mumbled down to the ground, which was mostly true. i was worried about my body, or at least, the scars on it

"dont know why you should be" i heard one mumble, but because of my hair covering my face i couldnt see who.

"sorry" i told them.

"dont be. if you dont want to you dont want to" Prodigy shrugged his shoulders. the guys nodded in agreement, and i felt a tiny bit of relief.

"So, who did you come here with?" Roc asked me as we all sat down on the blanket they brought with them.

"a few of my friends" I whispered, then picked my head up so I could look back at them.

"OK"

it was quiet for a minute while  we all just stood there checking each other out.  Or more specifically, them checking me out.

Que the uncomfortable feeling.

I shifted slightly, then as I took in a deep breath I started seeing little black dots in my vision But dismissed it. Probably just a little hot, But that was it, right?

"So what are you doing later?" Princeton looked right into my eyes and asked.  I felt my whole world stop right then and there, and felt my breath hitch in my throat. Like I couldn't breathe. 

And That's When Zoey and Amber came running over.

Thank God they did because I probably would've stayed like How I was until the end of time if they didn't.

Even though they totally looked like beach models. Both of them were soaked from swimming, and Zoey's red hair that came shoulder blade length curly looked alot  better wet I think.

"There you are Kate" Amber ran over and hugged me, and Zoey can in rushing for the hug also. They surrounded me, and I swear I felt like a million degrees right then and there.

"She was with us" I heard Ray protest, and I guess that was the first time my friends looked at them. Zoey gasped and Amber's eyes held a glint of recognition even thought she was better at hiding it.

"Hey" she said, then slung an arm around Roc's shoulders.  Amber always was a bit flirtatious and outgoing.

"Hey yourself" he smiled right back at her, and she playfully stuck her tongue out at him before walking back over to me.

"This is Amber and Zoey and they are friends of mine" I told Mindless Behavior,  and they nodded and smiled.  I guess they find my friends prettier than me. Not that I would even be considered pretty at all...

"you know you guys are more than welcome to join us over here" Prodigy said, and me and my friends looked at each other before going to grab our things and bringing them back to the boys' spot.

after that, almost everyone went back out to the water for a little longer. Everyone except a certain someone....

"you never answered my question" Prince laid sideways on their blanket,  propping his head up with his hand. He momentarily ran his fingers through his still wet curls, and all I could think about was How I was next to my favorite celebrity still.

"uhm, I'm going to a sleepover at my friends' House for the weekend" I answered him, then took the exact same position as him But facing him. he smiled, and I felt my heart drop again for like the hundredth time today.

we stared at each other for a while, just not moving,  not even talking. we were both content with the silence.

"alright Kate you Ready to go?" the girls came walking back with the guys behind them.

"it's not my fault she pushed you. " ray laughed.  Prod joined in with him, and roc was trying to look angry But laughed anyway.

"I can't help it if I'm swole " Amber flexed, then kissed her biceps.  we all laughed, and roc came and put her on his shoulder.

"Baby girl I'm swole too" he laughed, then started carrying her around like that.

I started to get up, But my vision got all of those little black dots like before. I thought it was nothing earlier,  so Why would it be anything now?

But just as I got to my feet, the dots got so big they took up my entire vision and I felt myself falling to my knees before blacking out...
