"Jinx! Double jinx! Infinity jinx!" Diana and I shout at each other in her room.
Laughing, I throw one of the pink pillows at her. She dodges and catches it gracefully before throwing it back at me. I lie down on my stomach as I try to get myself to stop laughing. We take a few seconds to calm down and go back to watching the chosen movie of the night.
Like every Saturday, we holed up in her room right after dinner and spent over two hours talking and gossiping as a movie plays on her TV. We use this time to catch up on each other's lives, because with each of us being so busy and having so many things to balance, like work (for me) and cheerleading (obviously implying to her), we need our sister bonding time.
As the credits and lonely classical music start to play, I turn to Diana and ask her something seriously that's been bugging me for the past few days, "So how have you really been?"
She responds with an honest smile, but I still see a tiny hint of hurt, "I'm actually pretty good. I think I'm mostly over the whole love life thing. And I am definitely going to be swearing off boys for awhile."
My sister laughs lightly and I'm glad she does seem better. "We'll see about that. But just promise me you're going to swear off of Austin Parker forever."
"Oh trust me, hurt me once, you will go to hell and die an agonizingly slow brutal murder. I will not let you get a chance to hurt me any more than that."
"Well it's good to see you're not bitter anymore..." I say sarcastically, but my tone also suggests I agree with her statement.
Giggling, she replies with a sad smile, "It's just... I was thinking that it would be totally great if one day, just once, he-who-must-not-be-named got his heart broken."
"If he even has one," I grumble. "But I'm certain that karma will one day come back to that boy. Hopefully one day soon."
Shaking my head and trying to change the subject to a lighter and less upsetting topic, I reach for the remote control, "In the mood for some Big Bang Theory?"

"Meredith, I need you to rearrange the items that are on sale again please. Some ladies went in earlier and messed up the whole rack. Thank you!" Suzan politely orders as I exit the stock room.
"Sure thing!"
I walk over to the coats and blouses and organize it once more to the way it's supposed to be. I put the bigger discounts to the back of the rack as a way to get the buyers to browse through the whole rack of items. The soft jingle of the bell rings behind me, signaling a new customer has entered. Assuming my co-worker Heather has come over to accomodate him (or most likely her), I continue sorting.
As I turn with a pile of chiffon blouses and graphic tees that don't belong in this rack, I nearly drop them when I get startled to see someone infront of me. My blood boils and I grind my teeth.
"Nice running into you again Hamilton." Austin Parker smirks back at me.
"Literally," I scoff before moving away to go back to doing my job.
"It's not my fault the ladies can't stop falling for me," he winks causing me to roll my eyes at him, like always. "So I need a little help. I'm looking for something nice for a special girl of mine. It's her birthday soon and I'm hoping to get her something nice."
"What do you have in mind?" I ask monotoned.
"I don't know, or care, what it is. All I'm really looking for is something tight and that shows a lot skin." He wiggles his eyebrows.
