"Can you believe that no-good conceited asshole? He thinks he's such a god and every woman should bow down to him. I swear I can't stand ever looking at his face again without wanting to rip his head off and feed it to-"
"Woah, easy there Tiger." Elliot tries to calm me down, interrupting my raging rant.
We're sitting on my bed completely surrounded by nothing else but books. He came over an hour after I returned home from work and we started cramming together.
I got a text from the person at the very top (and honestly, the only person) of my Hate List a couple minutes ago and this launched my foul mood. Elliot asked me about what bothered me and so I had to tell him about today's earlier events.
Elliot sighed in frustration and rolled his eyes as he continues, "But I do agree with everything you said... Guess that's Austin Parker for ya."
"I seriously wanted to punch him in the balls right then and there."
"If I were with you, I would probably have done more than that. Pervert's lucky he got away alive just cause I wasn't there," he gritted his teeth.
I shake my head and the violent thoughts away before returning to rewriting my European History notes. He looks back at his textbook and grunts, "Seriously, next time that dude gives you problems, tell me asap. He has no right to disrespect my best friend."
See that's what I liked about Elliot, he always had my back.
"It's no big deal. He's just given me all the more reason to hate him, which I don't really mind at all." I say coolly.
"But he better watch it. You know what, I even give you full permission to hit him as hard as you can in any way you want if he ever pisses you off like that again. You can even call me to help." There's a glint of humor in his olive green eyes, but an edge in his voice as Elliot says this. He quickly chuckles at his half-meant joke.
I laugh with him, the atmosphere in the room suddenly lifting, and we get back to studying. We sit there in the middle of the bed in complete silence, totally emersed in our own tasks. My back starts to strain and I decide to lie down on my stomach as Elliot adjusts too and leans on my sky blue pillows.
I chew on my lip trying to solve a Physics question when I feel my cellphone vibrate at the foot of the bed. Immediately, I know who the text is from and choose to ignore it. A couple of minutes later, it vibrates once more. Elliot meets my eyes looking annoyed before glancing at the phone. I groan and shake my head.
"Don't mind it," I assure him. Although looking not so convinced, he still looks back down at whatever he's studying. I turn his textbook for me to read the cover and I wrinkle my nose to which he chuckles at.
Psychology. Bleh.
I go back to my work as well and rack my brain to start working normally again. As I give up and move to the next question of the assignment, I get another unwanted text from an unwanted person.
He shuts his textbook and reaches for my cell which is now vibrating consecutively, "I think you should at least answer it to tell him to fuck off."
"Didn't I tell you I already told him that in person?" I turn to him.
"Yes, and you also told me that he just brushed it off. If you don't reply right now, I will. I can't concentrate if he just keeps texting and texting."
"It's on silent!" I defend as he unlocks my phone that's now in his hands.
"Doesn't make much of a difference- Wait are you sure this is Austin Parker texting you?"
