Mission, Get Austin Parker to Fall Mindlessly In Love With Me Then Dump His Sorry Ass, is a go.
Yes, it's a mouthful. I know.
So we start with phase one: make his sorry ass jealous.
My mind is focused and alert as Elliot opens the door to the cafeteria, letting me go in first. I give him a courteous nod and he smiles mischievously.
No sign of the unsuspecting target.
We make our way to the line of students getting their lunch and he hands me a tray.
I grab it, "Why thank you, kind sir," then slide it on the steel ledge as the line moves.
"Anything for you my fair maiden," he winks back and smirks.
I look at him a little thrown back and he just wags his eyebrows, "Just practicing."
"Alright then, babe." I giggle and twirl my hair like the flattered girl I'm meant to act like. He just crinkles his nose and shakes his head, amused, yet I can tell he's a little excited about what we would be doing today.
We had it all thought out.
I turn to the lunchlady across the counter and smile politely, "Um, the lasagna please."
She takes a big spatula full of pasta and sets it on a plate before handing one over with a kindhearted grin. "Have a good day kids."
"Thanks, you too Karen," Elliot replies for us before we move over to the dessert area.
There, a spread of chocolate cake, churros, and apple pie shine temptingly at us and I ask for a piece of cake while Elliot gets some churros.
Once we're all set, we make our way to our exclusive lunch table of awesomeness and take our places on the metal benches.
I scan the room quickly for our target before sitting down on the other side of the table.
We start to discuss the history project we each have to work on.
He laughs at my self-proclimation of being a loser when it comes to history, and I reach over across the table to punch his shoulder lightly.
As I pull back, I quickly steal one of his churros, dip it in the chocolate sauce, and take a bite with a smirk on my face.
"Hey!" He scolds me with a stern pout to follow.
"Oh don't be jealous of my fast reflexes," I tease before attempting dipping it again.
He swats my hand and sticks out his tongue playfully, "Don't forget which one of us actually plays a sport."
"Last I remember, you just use your feet for soccer."
"Your point? And hey, no double dipping."
"Challenge accepted."
I pounce towards him and try to take the entire cup of chocolate, but he grabs my wrist before I can pull away. Laughing, I move the hand holding the churro and attempt to dip it directly in the cup I'm holding, but he catches it too.
His grin grows wide and wicked as he quickly puts his mouth closer and takes a big bite of the churro I just stole... and my fingers.
I squeal in surprise and jerk both my arms away, which he releases, as he starts bursting out in evil laughter.
"You did not just bite me," I exclaim and rub my fingers.
"I told you not to double dip. Did you just squeak?" He's having a fit from laughing.
