I am Phoenix. I'm 15, shy, reserved, outcast, smart, and I have sucky parents.
See, my dad is a famous actor and he is loved by everyone. Except me. He's a terrible person, and a terrible father. Because of him I have to go into the spotlight every now and then and being the socially awkward dork I am, I mess it up. He doesn't understand. He doesn't get it. He never will. So I mess everything up. What comes after that? Beatings. Sometimes with a cane, sometimes a leather belt. Maybe even his own hand if he is desperate. And then he and mum treat me as if I'm not even part of their family. As if being their son was some great opportunity that I messed up and having a son like me is the worst embarrassment ever. No one knows about this but I've had enough. I have to do something other than sit around and feel sorry for myself. That never helped anybody. I have to change things, that much I know.
What I didn't know is that I was going to get a lot of help.
