Chapter 13 - Old faces, New places.

Christie's POV (Some time after the Prom)

"Christie.. get up... come on." Someone shook me from my dream. I opened my eyes. A blur was kneeling next to me. When the face comes in to focus I gasp. The brown hair, brown eyes, the cheek bones. All familiar to me. It was my dad! A few seconds later I came to my senses, that can't be my dad. There's only one other person that would look like that...

"Jake!" I scream wrapping my arms around him.

"Whoa 'lil sis' don't get sappy on me now." He laughs.

"Well it's been like four years. Four years with only a call every Christmas." I poke his chest.

"I've already had this argument with Mam, I told the both of you I was going away for a while." I smirked.

"A while? We thought that would have a couple months. Not four bloody years!" I go on my tip-toes to look bigger, which failed because even on my tip-toes he was still a head taller.

"Well I'm back now and I've brought someone with me." He marched out the room. Not long after leaving he poke his head through the door. "Oh please don't look like a scruff, I want her to have a good first impression."

Her? A girl?

Four years of travelling the world and he brings back a girl!

I eagerly get dressed, brush my hair and rush down the stairs. I can hear voices coming from the living room so I go in. On the sofa  Jake is sitting next to a blond girl with lightening blue eyes, she looked a couple years older than me. Her arms are wrapped around Jake's waist as if she would float away at any minute and he was anchoring her, which was kinda funny because she looked light enough to be blown down in the wind.

I sat down opposite the couple, their eyes followed me. The blond girl smiles at me (showing her extremely white teeth) then extends an arm her eyes reminded me of ice; cold and hard.

"Hi I'm Donna, you must be Christie." I shake her hand.

It was silent until Mum burst through the kitchen door, a tray of tea and biscuits in her hands.

"Okay there you are." She chimed, sounding more excited than she should be.

"Thanks." The woman beside Jake smiled taking a sip from her mug. "Tea's good." She spoke with an accent, maybe southern England.

"So when did you and Jake meet?" Mum asks.

"Mum." Jake moans

"I'm only taking an interest." She chides.

"Oh well it was a really romantic story. There I was in the middle of the New Delhi market, lost from my friends. I was scared and panicking. Then without warning a stampede of people came swarming at me, I fell and people were standing on me. I thought I was about to be stamped to death until I felt hands grab me and they pulled me out of the rush." She looks at Jake, whose ears were reddening by the second. "Your son, my Jakey, save my life." It didn't sound as romantic as the way she made it out to be.

"How... interesting." Mum says with unconvincing interest.

"He took me back to his tent and wouldn't let me leave until he was sure that I was fine." Donna smiles.
