Warning attempted self harm and upsetting scenes throughout the book

Albus Potter and Scorpius Malfoy were striding down Diagon Alley, shopping for new school supplies for their 5th year at Hogwarts. They had spent they whole day there, a little bit of shopping and a lot of messing around. "We need to go into Flourish and Blotts to get a new quill and ink, apparently it's a special requirement" said Albus slowly reading out the equipment letter from Professor McGonagall. But just as they were about go into Flourish and Blotts, Scorpius grabbed Albus's hand and ran to the Quidditch Supplies shop, pulling Albus with him. Scorpius pressed his right hand lightly onto the glass, bearing in mind his left hand was still clasped tightly to Albus's hand. Scorpius gawped at the precious broom in the shop window. "The Firebolt mark III. I want it. It matches and can double the speed of a cheetah." Scorpius exclaimed. Albus said in reply, "What's a cheetah?" Which only lead Scorpius to ramble on about this strange muggle animal. After 2 minutes of staring in the window, this seemed ages to him, Albus broke the silence,
"Scor..."
"Yes Potter?"
(Scorpius had developed a habit of calling Albus, 'Potter')
"What are you doing?"
Scorpius then looked down to where his hand was connected with Albus's. After realising what he was doing, Scorpius abruptly pulled his hand away from Albus, his face turning a bright shade of crimson. Thoughts ran through and Albus's head:'No, no, no Scorpius, don't stop, I liked that!' But he couldn't pull up the courage to say this out loud. Albus had liked Scorpius throughout his time at Hogwarts so far. Scorpius had recently grown close with Rose, and Albus had been left feeling jealous. Albus felt threatened by her as he thought that Scorpius might prefer to love Rose. Albus couldn't lose Scorpius, he was like the love of his life! "Come on, let's go back to Flourish and Blotts then Sugarplum's Sweet Shop and then back to my place" Said Scorpius pretending what just happened didn't happen. "Right, let's go" replied Albus. So off they went to Flourish and Blotts to buy their equipment, followed by Sugarplum's Sweet Shop where they filled their hands and pockets with sweets, paid and left to go home.

Scorpius and Albus were having a weeklong sleepover with each other (2 weeks if they were good) They decided to do this every year but swap over parents/ houses every 1/2 weeks. Scorpius and Albus sat on Scorpius's bed eating sweets and chatting about what they would do for the last two weeks of their school holidays. "Well," said Albus munching on a liquorice wand,"You're closer to Diagon Alley that me..." "Yes but you've got floo powder" Scorpius interrupted.
"Oh, I forgot that"
"You forget a lot of things" Scorpius laughed.
"Well I'm stumped for ideas" Albus sighed.
Both boys heard a voice coming from downstairs calling their names. Scorpius ran to the edge of the room and shouted, " Yes Dad?"
"Okay now, sweets away, change into your pyjamas, do your teeth and into bed." Called Draco.
"But Dad!" Scorpius complained
"No buts. I'll be up soon for lights out."
"Okay"
Scorpius returned back to the room where Albus had stuffed his face with a whole Chocolate Frog. Albus grinned guiltily with his teeth a bit brown from the chocolate.
" Wow, he's so cute..."
Scorpius thought to himself before reiterating what Draco said they had to do.
When Albus and Scorpius were all tucked up in bed, Draco went upstairs, bent down and kissed Scorpius on the forehead and said goodnight to both the boys before going back downstairs again. Scorpius was sleeping on a camp bed on the floor because he insisted on Albus having his bed.
"Hey Scorp, are you awake?" Albus whispered
"Yes Potter" Scorpius replied sleepily.
"Promise not to laugh at what I'm going to say?"
"I promise"
"Um, well, I... I" Albus stuttered "Well, I think I have some feelings for, um well, you and I really like you as more than a friend. As in... What I'm trying to say is I'm kinda in love with you" He said with all his heart.
"Scorp?"
"Scorpius?"
"Please say something"
Albus looked over at Scorpius only to see that he had fallen asleep. So Albus rolled over to fall asleep as well.
