I heard someone knocking on my door. I tried to ignore it, I did but they just weren't letting up. I looked at my alarm clock and it read 12:47 am. I groaned and got up. I opened the door and it was Bailey. "What?" I said groggily and rubbed my eyes.

"Mom's talking about sending you to another school. I don't want you to go." She said as if she was about to cry.

"What? When'd she say this?"

"Yesterday. I don't want you to leave Bryan." She grabbed my waist and held me tightly.

I hugged her back. "I'm not going to leave you but if I do leave, I'm taking you with me. Now stop crying and go back to sleep. You can tell me the rest of the story tomorrow."

She let me go and wiped her tears away and went back to her room.

Great. My half-ass of a mother would be talking just that wreckless. After all the shit that's been going on in my life, I can't even come home and tell her about it, you know just to get it off my chest and have her give me some encouragement because we weren't at that level. We've never been at that level. So why should I even be surprised about what she was saying? I just wonder what she really said and how she said it and why she would even be thinking about sending me away, I mean... I'm almost out of high school.

Now I couldn't sleep. I got up and went to the park to shoot ball. I hate to see my little sister upset. Why would she even do this, or attempt too? She knows I'm not letting her keep Bailey with her. She's never home half of the time anyways. Ugh!! She just makes me so mad..

I threw the ball and just screamed. What am I going to do if she goes through with this? I fell down on my knees in the middle of the court. Tears streamed down my face. I wanted to just hurt someone. Kill someone.

I heard the gates from around the court rattle, which startled me. I looked up. It was no other than Paige. She came over to where I was and I wiped my eyes and stood up.

"Bryan, what's going on?" Her voice was shaky. "Your sister called me crying talking about you being gone.."

"I thought she went back to sleep."

"What happened?"

"Moms trying to send me away."

"What? Why?"

"I don't know Paige, that's just what Bailey told me and she was so messed up about it."

"Where is she trying to move you to?"

"I don't know Paige, I don't know anything. But I'm going to find out." I picked up my ball and started walking back home with Paige.

Sometime during our walk, she grabbed my hand and I looked at her. She smiled. "Bryan,"

"Yeah?"

"Whatever you do, don't get into too much trouble.."

"What do you mean?"

"Exactly what I said. As in, don't do anything STUPID!"

I shook my head and smiled. "I'll try not too."

Paige and I parted ways once we got close to our houses. I walked up on my porch and reached for the door knob until I heard yelling.

"Paige?! What did you call her for?"

"Bailey! I've asked you two questions already and you're not answering me!" She screamed at her again. I could imagine the look on Bailey's face. Terrified of our bitter ass mother. She still didn't answer. "Where's Bryan?"

Bailey yelled. "I don't know that's why I called Paige!"

"You better lower your damn tone! Did you tell Bryan about me sending him away? Huh?!"
