I woke up on the floor

I woke up on the floor. I didn't know what happened or how I got here. "Rough night," I said to myself as I ran my fingers through my hair.

"You got that right." A voice said startling me. Literally my heart jumped so hard, I just knew it fell out of my chest.

"How'd you get in here Paige?" I asked her as I got myself up off the ground.

"I walked duh." She joked. "Your mom wanted me to come by and check on you. Seems like to me you've been sleep walking or you did all this yourself."

I was angry. My mother sent someone else in here to check on me, but was I surprised? Not one bit. "I guess I won't ask any more questions. I'll just help you clean up." She told me. "We got a lot of work to do."

She had trash bags for us already. I looked at all this wondering did I really do all of it? I had to but why?

If a tornado was in the city I knew it had to have hit this room.

"Why did you even do this?" Paige asked me.

I shrugged my shoulders.

"Your mom made you mad?"

I shrugged again as I started picking things up.

"Okay, cat got your tongue?"

I didn't do anything this time.

She was getting frustrated with me now as she mumbled something under her breath. "Okay, you're really frustrated I see and you're frustrating me."

Now she was pissing me off. "What?!" I asked her an angry tone.

"You're frustrating me!" She said louder.

"How?"

"How?! Did you just ask me that?"

"I didn't tell you to come in here and help me!"

"I'm just trying to be your friend! You can fuss at me but when you get to school you can't tell anybody anything! You know what," she threw down the bag "...forget it! Clean it up yourself!" She walked out of my room and out of my house in anger. And I didn't care at the moment.

I walked downstairs and my mom didn't look my way; she just continued to look at the morning newspaper and eat her breakfast. "Bye Bryan," Bailey told me.

"Bye." I replied as I walked out of the door like the invisible child that I am.

When I got outside I looked around for Paige as a instinct just to notice that she was getting in the car with her mom. She must've told her about our argument and her mom gestured to take her to school like a real parent. Nice. So I guess I'm walking alone today.

I got to school and everyone was staring at me like I stole something. I didn't do anything; well that I knew of. I headed on to my locker and before I got there I was Paige getting her books out. She looked over at me. "Don't worry, I was just leaving." She slammed the locker shut and started to walk away.
