Chapter Seven

Damon's POV

She let out more tears.

"Long story short my dad left, my mom hates me, my brother started making bad choices and ever since Ace broke up with me I have been a wreck." she said her voice cracking and her sniffling the whole time.

"No microwave version." I said and then she looked down "I'm here for you and I want to be able to help you." I continued pulling her face towards mine so that our eyes met again.

"Please." I persisted.

"My dad was cheating in my mom, and I told him that he couldn't do that to her and that she deserved better. He said I was right she did deserve better and that night he packed up his things and left. Ever since my mom blames me for it so she treats me like crap and my older brother has been doing drugs and sleeping around... acting out hoping mom will tell dad and he will come back." she said her voice still soft.

"And who's Ace?" I asked.

"My ex of three years..." she said looking away again.

I knew she wasn't telling me the full truth.

"What else?" I took her face in my hands and looked into her eyes again. I needed to know what she was keeping from me.

"We were that on again off again couple, and..." she hesitated "he abused me and left scars and bruises all over my body." she said crying again.

I couldn't contain my anger.

"He what?!" I said almost yelling. She looked at me surprised.

"Why do you care?" she asked tears still streaming down her face I took my hoodie and wiped her face with my sleeve.

"Because, baby, you're worth it." I said.

She looked up at me and smiled.

"I am?" she asked tears still streaming down her face.

"One hundred percent my love." I said.

She turned and hugged me. We sat hugging for a minute and then she let go, but not all the way her hands still on my shoulders my hand still holding her back. She leaned in and kissed me, I kissed her back and after a little while the kiss ended. She smiled at me tears staining her face.

"Thank you." she said.

"For what." I asked her.

"Everything." her answer was simple.

"You deserve someone who will always be there for you and actually care about you." I said.

Her face was so dainty and perfect. Her hazel eyes were red from all of the crying she had done.

I picked her up. She laughed and I threw her on the bed. I went in the closet.

"What are you doing?" she asked still giggling.

I grabbed a flat screen T.V. where it had been sitting inside my closet. I set it at the edge of my bed. The end of the frame was pretty thick so I knew it wasn't going to fall. I went back into my closet and grabbed my xbox that was sitting next to where the T.V. was. I connected it to the T.V. and grabbed the controller and as I walked past the T.V. I turned it on.

"What are you doing?" she asked again.

"You like Netflix right?" I asked her scooting next to her on my bed.

"Duh" she said like it was the most stupid question in the world.

I laughed and then she laughed along with me.

"Good" I said still laughing.

I turned on the Xbox and turned on Netflix. I handed her the controller.

"Here you pick" I said to her while I got under the covers.

"Ok, I think you'll like this" she said as she scrolled through the search list.

She picked Jurassic Park and pressed play. She threw the remote to are feet and slid under the covers and moved closer next to me.

"I wouldn't have pegged you for the dinosaur type of girl" I said laughing and shocked at the movie she picked.

"Oh I love dinosaurs" she said and laughed.

We sat and watched the movie. She fell asleep and curled up next to me and layed her head on my chest. All was right in the worlds in this moment.

Dakota's POV

We sat watching Jurassic Park and I wanted to get closer to him I was kinda tired and started to doze off. I curled up next to him and my head made its way onto his chest. I could smell his cologne and his warmth and I melted into a deep sleep.
