Come Back in Five Years....

13: Darkness is coming

Hiccup's POV

I was suddenly jerked up by my shoulders, being pulled away from Astrid's body as she gasped in pain, she sat up cradling her injured thigh in her hands. "Hiccup Haddock! What on earth do you think you were doing?! Attacking Astrid like that." I groaned as I heard Stoick's loud voice boom around me, I roughly pulled my body out of his grasp, "It was between me and her, Stoick." I hissed, spinning around and holding Inferno in front of me in case someone thought it would be funny to try and get a hit on me.

"Well Hiccup, stabbing people is not allowed in Berk!" Stoick said, loudly. I rolled my eyes lowering Inferno slightly. "I might be on the land of Berk, but I don't belong to the Berkian tribe." I said loudly, Toothless came over and sat down next to me, holding his head up high. The small group of vikings that had surrounded us had completely frozen, the people tending to Astrid froze as well and I felt a small speck of pride flare in my chest as I noticed what I had said had left them completely gobsmacked. 

"Hiccup, you are my son, you are apart of this tribe." Stoick said, reaching out for my arm but I jerked away, Toothless growling as he wrapped his tail around me. "No, I'm not your son, remember? I remember precisely you saying that I was disowned by you, and I was sent off for 5 years alone, REMEMBER?!" I yelled, my anger flaring and turning into a full on bonfire. "Hiccup! Do not say that! The day you came back you would be apart of the tribe and the Haddock family." Stoick said, I rolled my eyes. "No, I don't want to be apart of this tribe or your family! Dragons are my family." I said, looking up at Stoick with cold, serious eyes. 

"Hiccup! They are beasts and deserve to be punished, they killed your mother, they destroyed the boy I know!" Stock yelled, I felt my blood boil and Toothless growled. "Dragons are amazing intelligent creatures! they might've taken mum away but that doesn't mean she was killed and the boy you knew those 5 years ago was destroyed, but he was replaced by someone better." I growled out angrily, "And dragons were a much better family then you ever were." I said before turning around and jumping into Toothless' saddle, pulling up gently making him beat his wings and fly up, turning him towards the forest, not looking back once at Stoick's pale face. 

3rd Person Point of View

Stoick sighed heavily as he rubbed at his eyes, he looked down at Astrid as she nursed her wound, people above her asked her a multitude of questions in record speed and Stoick stepped over to her, "Are you alright, Astrid?" Stoick asked, he ran his eyes over Astrid, checking for any other wounds physically. "I'm fine." Astrid muttered.

"What happened?" Stoick asked, Astrid looked up and sighed softly. "I was wondering something about Hiccup, speaking out loud to myself and Hiccup heard, I got angry and attacked him, he protected himself." Astrid said, she snatched a rag out of a vikings hand and pressed it roughly to the cut wound, blood slowly staining the brown rag a dark red. Stoick sighed and shook his head. 

"You young vikings are a real hassle." Stoick sighed, turning around and walking towards the mead hall. 

Unknown Point of View.

I scurried into the dark cave, looking around for my leader, after seeing his silhouette shrouded in darkness I ran towards him, my heart beat filling my ears. "I saw him, Hiccup is here. Will we go through with the plans?" I asked quickly, my breath hurried. 

My leader nodded his head, "Yes, we will go through with the plan. Oh Hiccup, I really hope you're ready." My leader laughed, tilting his head backwards as he cackled, the noise bouncing off the cobblestone walls surrounding us, I shrunk away nodding my head hurriedly.

"I-I will t-tell the soldiers." I said, spinning away from my leader who nodded and continued to cackle, I ran back out of cave entrance and looked up, seeing the mead hall of the the Berkian tribe, I smirked. "I hope they're ready." I whispered before letting out a small laugh before running towards the soldiers.
