Hiccup's Point of View.

Toothless and I have been flying for hours, trying to find an island far enough from Berk that I won't be disturbed. I jerked suddenly when I noticed I had accidentally fallen asleep, I shook my head and rubbed Toothless' head gently as an apology, he crooned gently and started to descend towards the ground and I looked at the island and it looked ideal, there were a few mountains, a large forest, beaches and small caves around the water line of the ocean.

I guided Toothless towards a cave in the side of a mountain, once he landed I climbed off his back and he went over to the corner of the cave and curled up, I walked over and unclipped the two baskets from his saddle and placed them on the ground before laying down in front of him, he crooned gently opening his wings and I crawled into them and sighed feeling Toothless wrap his wings around me, I fall asleep soon after.

~The Next day~

I woke up to Toothless licking my face wildly, I yelped in surprise and scrambled away wiping off my face and I made a noise of fake disgust. Toothless made a noise that resembled him laughing, I smiled and let out a small chuckle, "C'mon bud, better scout the island just to make sure nobody else hostile is inhabiting it." I said smiling softly at him and before climbing onto his back, Toothless warbled happily before speeding out of the cave and flying up towards the clouds, I yelled happily urging Toothless to fly higher before Toothless suddenly barrel rolled and nose-dived towards the ocean, the speed making the wind whoosh past us and whip my hair back, I screamed happily a huge smile spread across my face as I pulled Toothless up just in time and turned to the right back towards the island his wing skimming the surface of the ocean.

After two hours of scouting the island we found nobody else except other wild dragons that seemed passive, I made a mental note to try to tame them later once we had chosen that this island would be our new home. But we did make sure they didn't see us in case they were going to attack me since I was a human in case they had a bad past with Vikings. We were back at the cave and I was rummaging through the larger basket taking out some food since we hadn't had lunch or dinner yesterday nor breakfast this morning. I threw five fish at Toothless and he happily ate them, I took out some water and cold chicken I had packed and greedily gobbled it down.

I looked over at Toothless to see him looked at me, I frowned. "What?" I said and chuckled, Toothless warbled and he looked at me expectantly again. I was even more confused, Toothless rolled his eyes and he made a rotating motion with his paw, suddenly it clicked. He was trying to teach me dragonease. "Okay, can you repeat this word? Hello." I said clearly, Toothless growled and I listened intently before trying to repeat him, (Italics will be Dragonease) "hoooo" Toothless made a laughing noise before shaking his head and repeating the growl, I listened again and tried to repeat him one more time, "Helep" I growled, Toothless shook his head again and I tried one more time, "Hello." Toothless nodded happily jumping up and down, my smile grew, "How about, Hello Toothless?" I said, Toothless growled and then warbled, I nodded before trying to repeat him. "Hello Toofuss." Toothless laughed again but shook his head, I frowned. This was harder than I thought, "Hello Toothless." I said, Toothless nodded and showed me his infamous gummy smile. "Hello Hiccup." Toothless said, I gasped and clapped my hands together like an excited child at Snoggletog. (Sorry if I spelt that incorrect)

"I can understand you!" I exclaimed happily, Toothless nodded. "We should continue that later, it's getting quite late." I said, Toothless looks out and nods before going over to the corner and laying down and opening his wings, I walked over and laid in between his legs and wings, he carefully closed his wings covering me in darkness. I fall asleep smiling and I felt happy, like I belonged for the first time in a while.

1 Month later. (Sorry for the small time skip)

It's been a month since I was banished from Berk and so far it's been the best month in my life, Toothless has been teaching me Dragonease, I've nearly completed learning the language so we've started training in other categories, we've been working in stealth right now.

"Okay Hiccup, you will run into the forest and hide. If I see you I will shoot a plasma blast near you and you will be dead in the practice. Alright?" Toothless said, I nodded and smiled at him. I ran into the forest and looked around, I noticed that since it was autumn there were leaves all over the ground and I frowned noticing that if I were to walk around too much he would hear me. I looked around and smirked, I ran toward a tree and climbed up the trunk into the first layer of branches, I sat there looked around at the ground awaiting his arrival in the forest, suddenly I heard loud footsteps and rustling leaves coming in my direction and I pressed my back harder into the tree using the leaves to camouflage myself into my surroundings.

Toothless looked around completely oblivious to me above him, I snickered quietly making sure Toothless wouldn't head me before climbing around the trunk and going onto a much thicker branch that was connected to another tree, I smirked before climbing onto the other tree. I carefully lowered myself onto another branch below the branch I was just on and noticed Toothless was standing in one place, his ear flaps pricked up and he seemed to be thinking hard and straining his sense of hearing. I stayed still until he started to slowly walk forward, I jumped forward and grabbed onto a branch in front of me that was slightly higher and I used all my strength to stop swinging and stay still, continuing to hand from the branch.

Toothless stood there listening carefully and I cursed him in my head as my arms started to hurt, but I feared if I tried to pull myself up he would hear me. I let out a small breath and that must of been what gave me away as Toothless turned around and shot at a plasma blast at the thick trunk of the tree I was currently hanging from. "Ha! Found you."  Toothless yelled in victory, I groaned and let go of the branch and landed on the ground and staggered forward, Toothless catching me with his head. "We'll need to focus on your strength," Toothless said thoughtfully, I nodded rubbing my now sore biceps. "Yeah, can we start that tomorrow though?-" I said, scratching Toothless' head, "I'm hungry."  I finished, Toothless laughed at my excuse, I smiled while walking to Toothless' neck and he lowered himself closer to the ground allowing me easy access to the saddle.

I quickly mounted and Toothless took off into the sky, flying towards the cove that we now lived in he growled happily and I smiled. "You seem happy." Toothless said, sensing my relaxation. Ever since I was banished I was tense and I was a little moody, I need to admit, the first day I felt relaxed since the realisation of the situation hadn't sunk in, but after the first week, I started panicking. I smiled and rubbed the side of his head as he leant into my hand. "I am, Bud. I think I finally am." I said smiling as the wind wiped at my hair.

I believed those words and I think Toothless did too.
