~ Makoto's P.O.V ~
Today is Christmas Eve and I only have one thing bought for Kyouko. She was asking for a purple sweater a few months ago and I bought her that. She always asks for nothing or nearly nothing and then wants something a week later.
I'm surprised she didn't ask me to make a mixtape for her because I totally would have because I usually do every year.
We're having a Christmas party at my house tonight and we invited Kyouko and her Dad, Mondo, Kiyotaka, Chihiro, and Toko. Komaru is going to her 'friends' Christmas party so she isn't gonna be here tonight, which is okay. I guess, she never skips out on the family Christmas party so it's gonna be weird without her here for it.
I'm more surprised that Mom and Dad let her go since the Christmas party has been a Family Tradition ever since Mom was a kid and she was living with her parents.
I guess they just want her to be happy or whatever they say their excuse is. At least Kyouko is coming because it would be extremely boring here without her. It already is on a daily basis and I'm glad that Kyouko and I try to hang out or text each other every day after school, unless we have family things going on or something like that.
"Makoto! Kyouko's here!" Mom calls from downstairs.
Holy shit, she's earlier then she said she would be but that's perfectly fine. I smile to myself and leave my bedroom, walking downstairs so I could greet Kyouko before Mom embarrasses us to badly.
I walk downstairs and see Kyouko, the love of my life. The most beautiful woman in the world and I get to call her mine. I'm one lucky bastard, I'll give myself that.
"Hey, Makoto" Kyouko says, a faint smile on her face.
"Hey, Kyouko" I said, still kinda smiling.
"If you guys go upstairs leave the door open" Mom says before stalking off to the kitchen to continue cooking whatever were eating at the party tonight.
"We know" I say, looking at her as she walks away.
She says that everyone time Kyouko comes over and every time we leave the damn door open so she shouldn't feel the need to remind us a thousand times a week.
"Wanna go hang in my room?" I ask Kyouko, returning my focus to her.
"Sure" She says.
I nod and we head upstairs, ignoring Komaru when she passes us on the stairs with her school bag filled with clothes or something.
We walk into my bedroom and Kyouko sits down on my bed, pulling her purse from her side to her lap.
She pulls a CD case out and hands it to me. It's the CD that she always brings over when we hang out. It's the one we made together when we were barely ten years old.
I turn on my laptop and eject The Shining from the Disc drive and put the CD in it, not wanting to deal with my old and crappy CD player that's somewhere in my closet.
The first song that plays is Hey Jude by the Beatles. I turn the volume on my laptop up enough so we can hear the music but won't have to yell over it.
I sit down on the bed next to Kyouko and take her hands in mine. She looks at me and smiles, a faint but present blush on her cheeks. She looks so adorable when she's blushing.
"You look cute when you blush" I say, awkwardly.
That makes her blush and smile even more, making me blush and smile. If only we could sit around and blush like pre-teens for the rest of our days.
