After the coffee shop, I went straight to the clinic. The windows were transparent and large. Each room at this clinic was tidy, clean and cheerful, especially on my area. Being a paediatrician gave me a new meaning of life. Children are so innocent and soft, yet I don't remember me being that way. Probably, I choose this job to search for my innocence.

Walking on the corridors, I finally reached to my level. My first sight was the walls decorated with laughing and smiling babies. Following with small baby table with scattered pencils and papers. And finally few couples smiling and paying attention of what their children were doing. I smiled, letting all my thoughts fade away. Here I felt free.

A woman came forwards holding a white coat and statoscope. Without a word, I used it.

"Dr. Rostrovick, today you only have one appointment." my secretary Gina said.

My voice turned sour, "Just one? I thought I had two appointments."

She gave me a nervous smile and said, "Yes. They cancelled. But the first appointment is here. The parents and the baby are already inside."

I nodded and went inside.

My office was different than any doctors. While they only had one boring colour, mine was cheerful. My walls were painted with several and different fishes. Following with underwater plants and a chest full of golden coins, making bubbles that reached the top of the walls. The furniture was situated on the left, where all my files had different coloured folders. The table at the left wing was a small wooden table with tidy paperwork. On the right, the parents waiting for me eagerly. I recognised these parents.

I smiled and said, "Hello, Mr and Mrs Clark."

"Good morning Doctor." both said in sync.

I dropped my belongings and immediately went to the right wing. My open hands landed on the most beautiful baby, giggling loudly. I looked at the parents and told, "Richard is so cute. He such a good boy!"

"Believe me Doc, only with you. When we are at home, he only likes to eat, sleep and cry.", Mr Clark said.

The mother continued, "Yes honey, that because he is 6 months old. What else can he do?"

Mr Clark opened his mouth to say something but no voice came through. I burst into laughter and said "You guys are so adorable! Now, shall we see Richard's progress?"

They smiled and nodded.

I turned my full concentration on this baby. My solely attention was on this baby's wellbeing. I put the baby back on the bed and laid horizontally. Always with his delicate eyes on me. I pulled my statoscope and put onto his tiny chest. He instantly put his tiny hand on the statoscope and his eyes wandered into the shiny cold thing.

I listened to his heart and carried more tests.

I turned to the parents when I was satisfied with my conclusions.

"Richard is growing well. His vitals are good. Nothing to worry about."

The parents signed with relieve and then looked at each other. Richard's mother said "Thank you."

I smiled and told, "It's my job." I turned to this tiny creature and continued, "Now, Richard treat your parents well. Don't trouble them, ok?" His eyes twinkled and his smile was mischievous.

I took a step back, leaving enough space so his parents could hug him.

I headed back to my table and wrote my notes and then gave a slip to the parents, "This is for the next appointment, ok?"
