While you were watching the view and being caught up in your own thoughts, Grayson's voice snapped you out of them. "Y/N, I was wondering if...if you'd like to be my girlfriend." He seemed nervous, something that rarely happened to him. You broke out of the embrace, immediately regretting doing so, for you missed his warmth radiating off his body onto yours.

"What?" You looked at him to see if he was playing around, but you only saw seriousness written on his face. "You're joking, right?" If he was going to break your heart, he might as well do it now and say it was all a joke. "No, I'm not. Y/N, from the minute I saw you, I realized you weren't just like any other girl. You played hard to get. When I tried hitting on you, you didn't give in so easily. You're beautiful, smart, you treat everyone with respect, you're generous, witty, brave. You're just amazing. I've never felt this way towards any girl before, but you... You changed me for good."

You didn't realize you were crying until Grayson wiped away some tears that had fallen from your eyes. "Yes, Grayson. I'll be your girlfriend." He smiled in victory, which made you smile, too. He cupped your face and brought his lips to yours.

Since your parents would most definitely NOT approve of you dating the teenage bad boy, you decided to keep it a secret. Well, the only people that knew were Ethan and Cameron. You wondered why he didn't tell his parents, but he just said that they're busy, so they most likely wouldn't have time for it.

At school, however, people found out you two were dating;therefore, drama was bound to happen. But Grayson, being the protective person he, wasn't going to let anything or anyone come in between his relationship. Yes, he was protective but not the overprotective-clingy type. He let you do your own thing; he just wanted you to be safe.

Sneaking out in the middle of the night became a regular thing for both of you. He would knock at your window exactly at midnight, an hour after your parents were sure to be asleep. Most of the time, you would go to your "secret spot", which is the tree where he first asked you out.

Both of you would do crazy things in the middle of the night. You would go on new adventures, have late night talks in the tree or on the roof of his house at two in the morning. You didn't care what you two would do. As long as you were with him, everything would be alright.

That is, until one day.
Grayson thought it would be a good idea to walk in the woods. Yes, you had been in the woods, but you were high up on a tree, not actually walking around in the woods.

"I won't let anything happen to you. I promise," his voice sounded calm, but you were the complete opposite. Yes, you loved Grayson and yes, you trusted him. But this was different. Anything could be out in the woods.

You held onto Grayson's hand for dear life as you walked through the woods. The sound of howling startled you, making you stop dead in your tracks. "Gray, I don't think this was such a good idea." He, however, ignored you.
The howling continued, only this time it sounded as if it was getting closer. "Gray, I think we should go back." Once again, he ignored you. "Gray? Gray. Grayson!" You tugged on his arm, making him turn around. His eyes were a gold substance, making you widen your eyes in fear. "Stay close by me," he growled. By now, you were paralyzed with fear. You didn't even want to follow Grayson. You just wanted to run away and hope that it was all a dream. But, sadly, it was not a dream.

A few more people appeared, fangs showing through their lips. Ethan, Cameron and a few of their friends appeared. Your head started to spin. What the hell is going on?

"Well, Ms. Y/N, to answer your question, we're vampires. And pretty boy over there, along with his little clan of dogs," this made Ethan growl, "are werewolves." What the heck? Was this guy able to read minds? Oh, wait, you thought.

"Stay away from her." Grayson protectively wrapped his arm around your waist, and now, you didn't mind him. But once you got home, Grayson had some explaining to do to you.

Everyone was divided on both sides. Werewolves vs. Vampires.

According to the vampires, Grayson, Ethan and Cameron were turned into werewolves when they were just little kiddies. Cameron had been turned when she was eight, however, except she never told the twins. Their parents were killed by vampires, that's why they despise them so much.

One night, a couple (whose wife couldn't conceive) heard crying in an alleyway. Turns out, it was Grayson. They took him in as their own child. As a child, Grayson was separated from Cameron and Ethan. He didn't have anyone by his side growing up.

As Grayson got older, his "family" started to fall apart. His adoptive father would come home, reeking of alcohol, using his wife and Gray as his punching bags. If he had a long day, he would take a good beating out of both of them. Gray's adoptive mom would try and stop him from hurting Grayson, but he wouldn't budge.

Gray couldn't take it any longer. He couldn't take the beating, and the yelling anymore. Therefore, he decided to run away. Yes, he would be leaving everything behind, and his adoptive mom who soon grew to be his best friend. They protected each other from the abuse. He left her a note, saying how much he loved her and thanked her for everything.

And with that, Grayson never looked back.
