Everybody decided to go to the pool today since it was 112° outside. When I first heard about Jacob having a baby, I was shocked. He stopped talking to Alexia around a year ago and for her to just pop up like that out of the blue was strange. I read the letter and it seemed kind of sincere but I'm still skeptical about the whole situation.

At the end of the day, I'm glad that Chaylin came into Jacob's life. He smiles a lot more and is very happy all the time. He fell into a small depression when him and Chaylin's mother broke up and he's just now getting out of it. Chaylin is a very happy baby and as long as she has food and a clean diaper she doesn't cry.

"Aww, look at Jacob and Chay." I snap a picture of them and send it to Ms.Jamie.

I don't think anyone was more happy about Chaylin than she was. When she first found, like everyone else, she was skeptical at first, but she soon grew to love her granddaughter. And since Bryson and I don't have any siblings, he asked me if I could be like an aunt to her and I gladly agreed.

"Look at my babies. Tell him not to leave her in the water for too long. Don't want her precious skin to get wrinkly."

I laugh and text back with, "Kay" and lock my phone.

As I look up, I see Jacob walking towards me holding Chaylin who's wrapped up in her towel.

"Hey pretty girl! Did you and daddy have fun in the pool?", I ask kissing her chubby cheeks. She giggles and kicks her feet.

"She better have had fun, as much water as I got in my eyes."

I laugh. "I'm going to go dry her off while you get cleaned up so we can go get something eat."

He gives me Chaylin's bag so I can go and clean her up.

After everyone is dried off, we decide to go to Five Guys for burgers. Once we order our food, we say a quick grace and began eating.

"What's been up with Jayceon? I haven't heard you talk about him in a while."

"My mom says he is gone before she gets up and doesn't come back home until well after midnight. I don't know what's going on with him.", he says while feeding Chaylin a fry.

I nod my head in understanding. I saw him a few days ago talking to some dudes. I know for a fact that those dudes he was talking to are in a gang, but I decide not to say anything to Jacob since I don't know all the facts to the story.

Once we finish eating, I drop them off at home. As I'm driving to my own house, I stop at a red light. Since my windows are rolled down slightly, I hear someone yelling. I look down the alleyway and see 3 dudes jumping someone.

I quickly drive down the alleyway and the guys run off, leaving the beat up guy on the ground covered in blood and bruised badly. I get out of the car and run to him bending down to his level. I call 911 and they tell me someone is on their way.

The guy is completely unconscious and when I turn him so that I can see his face I gasp.

"Jayceon..."

This was just a filler chapter and some drama is on the way so be prepared.
