Chapter 3

I stumbled backwards while trying to escape his icey cold gaze. His eyes raked down my body painstakingly slowly and then slid back up to my face to rest on my lips which I were nervously bitting.

There was a reason that I didn't know who my new Alpha was, Alphas are notoriously known for being players. Especially if they were young and hadn't found their mates yet. So when my parents went to ask for permission to join the shadow pack they ordered me to stay at home so that I wouldn't have to meet him.

Alphas positions' in the pack made them hard to refuse and if all else failed then they could always order the female members of the pack to date them. I was in serious trouble if he happened to take a fancy in me and by the looks of it he already had.

Damn! All I wanted was to look at chocolate bunnies and eat a bag of sherbet. is that too much to ask?! He slowly got up from the bench he was sitting on and stalked over towards me.

Wait, was he just waiting for me to leave the sweet shop so he could ambush me?! How dare he! I bet he knows he's as indimidating as hell and he thought he could just walk up to me and Order me around like a little pup! Hell no, that is not happening!

By now all traces of fear had disappeared and had been replaced by cold determination not to back down. I held his gaze as he stalked over and put on my best 'I'm pissed at you for scaring the shit out of me earlier' look.

He stood so our chests were almost touching and when I still didn't drop my gaze he let out a low warning growl, signalling that I should break eye contact first or he would take it as an invitation to fight me.

The low sound vibrated through my rib cage and made my wolf whimper in the back of my mind, she knew that if we didn't back down know then he would have to assert authority over us by fighting.

I slowly lowered my eyes so I was looking at his chiseled jaw, and he took a step back.

"So, you must be the new girl then. What's your name?" He spat out. A spike of annoyance shot through me as he spat out the words like he was talking to a rogue or a traitor, but I held my tongue knowing that If he got any more annoyed I would have to pay for it later.

"Amalyn, I joined the pack 3 days ago. My father is the new beta." I replied bitterly.

"Aaah, you must be Michaels daughter. Such a pretty name for such a disrespectful little pup" He stated with an amused look on his face.

Ah hell no! He did NOT just call me a pup! My wolf let out a low growl at the insult and his eyes snapped back to mine in an instant.

"You better watch your tongue, pup, or I'm going to have to make your life VERY difficult." He whispered in my ear.

With that he gave me a wink and sauntered off, leaving me standing there with a confused look on my face, and a bag of untouched blue sherbet in my hand.
