A couple of days after spending time with Logan, Elodie and Cedric at the Diggory home, Florence was sitting on her bed with her cat Tullis sleeping in her lap. Across from her bed is a desk with a lit candle.
Florence extended a hand in the direction of the candle, releasing a breath she whispers "Hoppaþ nu swilce swá lieg fleogan." Her eyes glow gold for a couple of seconds and suddenly the flame of the candle begins to float. With her hand outstretched, Florence moves her hand to the right, watching as the flame follows her movements. Florence continues to do this, watching as the flame dances around her room.
Eventually the Hufflepuff girl leads the flame back to the wick of the candle. Florence proceeds to just stare at the flame as she begins to pet Tullis. A couple of minutes pass before there is a knock on the girl's door.
"Come in," says Florence to the person on the other side of her bedroom door, the cat jumping off of her legs.
Her door slowly opens, revealing an eleven year old boy. There stands Daniel Ramos, Florence's younger brother.
"Hey Florie, papi wants to know if you're hungry, he's done making dinner."
"Tell him I'll be down in a few minutes."
"Ok. He also wanted you to know that he made Tullis food, so you can feed him. I think he said it was rice soup with chicken."
Smiling, Florence looks down to where the family cat was laying on the floor. "Did he make a whole pot of the rice soup?" asks Florence, though she is sure of how her brother is going to respond.
"You know that when he makes Tullis the soup it's always a whole pot of it."
"Alright, alright. Tell him I'll be down then," said a smiling Florence.
"Ok," with that Daniel leaves his sister's room and closes the door.
Getting up from where she was sitting on her bed, Florence leaves her bedroom and heads straight for the bathroom to tie her hair up. Once her hair is up, she washes her hands and goes downstairs to enter the dining room.
Eduardo and Daniel were waiting for the fifteen year old to take her seat. Once she sits down at the table, Florence sees what her father made for dinner ― sausage and chopped up potatoes with a side of beans.
"Do you want any bread sweetheart?" questions the Ramos man as he reaches for the plate with slices of baguette bread. Nodding her head yes, Eduardo hands the plate to his daughter. Florence takes three pieces of bread before handing the plate back to her father. Placing the slices on a napkin next to her plate, Florence reaches for the pan with the sausage and potatoes, placing some on her plate, and then doing the same with the pot of beans.
"Is mami working late?" questions the girl.
"Yes, she got held up, said she should be home around ten thirty."
