*Seven Months Later*

Months had slowly passed since the fight against Hydra, and the falling of Shield. Valentina spent her days in her new home, a building designed by Stark, consisting of concrete walls and her living room being a lab. As days passed her hope of seeing James began to fade away. Her hope of getting to heal him crumbling away.

Sitting on a the leather stool, Valentina watched hesitantly as Tony and Bruce were fidgeting with their newest gadget.

"What is this supposed to do again?" Natasha asked standing over their shoulder's.

"It's a device that sends steady pulses of frequencies towards her cerebellum, to accesses data of all her functions to pin point how her abilities work" Bruce explained

"What exactly does that intel?" Valentina asked with a weary tone.

"In other words, we will get a decent reading on what she's capable of " Tony simplified.

"What made you decided to do this?" Natasha questioned.

Natasha crossed her arms with a stern face, protective over Valentina.

"It's because they found a file that Tony's father had made, and Tony decided to pick up where he left off" Valentina chirped in.

She looked at Bruce nodding, "I agreed to it"

Bruce returned with a comforting smile, his steady hands placing the halo on top of her head. Shifting it till it was comfortable. Valentia took a slow breath to chill her nerves from thinking of the worse possibilities.

"Put these goggles on they are to create a flash to help stimulate your mind" Tony explained.

He extended his hand, an impatient look on his face. Valentina concerned stared down at the goggles, she took them tentatively.

"I really hope you two know what your doing" She warned.

Valentina nervous of the outcome, placed the googles across her eyes regardless.

"I'm a genius, and Banner here comes to a close third place" Tony teased winking at Natasha.

Natasha returned with an eyeroll taking a seat just a foot from the tense Valentina. Bruce nodded until he realized he was offended.

"Why third? There's only two of us" Bruce protested setting up other equipment.

"I'm so smart I take both first and second place, better luck next time Banner" Tony smirked.

Tony clapped his hands excitedly before taking his stance in front of a large holographic screen. Pulling the picture of her brain from a live file, he tossed it to the center of the room just above their heads

"Alright let's get this started, Jarvis if you will dim the lights please"

"Val are you really ok with this?" Natasha whispered leaning towards Valentina.

"It's a distraction" Valentina admitted, the images of James from months earlier flashing across her eyes. The cold emotionless stare, and his hopeless gaze. She mentally shook it away taking a deep unhelpful breath.

"And Tony really wanted to do this, it's my way to say thank you for letting me stay here" Valentina waited anxiously

"By being a lab rat?" Natasha raised her eyebrow sitting back into her seat.

"Alright Barnes let's start this party" Tony smirked taping across the screen.

Slow flashes of a bright light covered Valentina's vison, after a moment a slow and low hum surfaced around her head.
