A/N:this is the most important chapter in the story I think. In the next couple chapters there will be some action and main character fluff….so without farther ado this is chapter 7.

Blame

Chapter 7

“So when were you born?”Chester and I had been together for a month now and he never had enough questions. The morning after he stayed the night I went hunting and he stayed at my place to shower and get ready for school.

“1905. Same day just a really long time ago. Oh and before you ask I’m 105 years old. And both of my parents died, I watched them.I thought back then that we were rich but really my father was a crook and we were middle class. My mother didn’t work because back then it was unheard of.I was hit by a car on my sixteenth birthday and almost died until my best friend Marvin turned me into my kind.” I figured if I gave him the next few answers to his questions he would be quiet. I was wrong.

“Doesn’t it make you sad to know you watched your family die?” he seemed extra inquisitive today.

“Not anymore. At first I tried to end my existence but my vampire family convinced me the pain would go away, and it did. Now that I have you I am actually really happy.”

“Well, then I’m glad I can help.” He was leaning in to kiss me at my locker, but I wasn’t ready to kiss him yet.Even though I had just hunted, I wanted our first kiss to happen somewhere special. Not at school.

“Not today Chester. How about I take you to a special I found in the woods today. Hmm?”

“I’d love that.” He had a grin from ear to ear.

“Okay so let’s get through with today and come to my place after school, around four-ish.” With that he walked me to class and the day went by like usual. I got home and hunted. When I got back I threw my clothes in the wash and changed. When I came out of the room Marvin was standing in the middle of the living room. The expression on his face was worry and discomfort.

“So it’s true?” the sound of his voice was strained.

“What’s true?”

“I can smell human in here.Clement said you were dating with a human. Is this true?” his usual velvety soft tone was slowly making its way back.

“Clement told you about him? In that case, yes. Yeah we are, but I…he’s my, my m-mate Marvin.I don’t know why, but from the moment we made eye contact I-I just knew.”

“I understand, but you need to be very careful Beth.Clement is starting to scare me.The way he has been acting is very concerning. He has become very troubling. When he came to me yesterday all he was mentioning was that you told a human what you were and he kept threatening us.He sounds like he is going to kill you, or the boy.”Once he finished talking I let out a hiss.If Clement thinks he is going to kill my mate he is insane.
