 Summer's POV:

I woke up feeling well rested for the first time in months. Then I remembered. I remembered everything. Annabeth... she's gone. No. Nononononononono. It must've been a dream.

Maybe there were no newbies and... And nothing happened and I'll go down and see Chiron smiling and happy and Annabeth will be there with Percy and Thalia. No... It just doesn't sound like demigod life, does it? But there's no harm in hoping.

I took a deep breath and decided to take the risk of going down for breakfast. I took a shower, got dressed and tied my hair up in a ponytail.(my personal note:add a polyvore set here)

I dragged my feet all the way to the stairs and walked down very, very slowly. All the way I my thoughts kept returning to the day I met Annabeth.

Flashback

Summer POV:

I tried to run to Chiron, but instead tripped over the leg of a chair. I started wailing loudly because I was hurt. Just before I closed my eyes to try to ease the pain, I saw a hint of gold. What was it, I wondered.

Just then I heard hooves clomping towards me and immediately I knew I was going to be okay. Chiron picked me up and carried me to the main desk in the Big House. He told me to drink from a glass he was holding at my mouth.

Obediently, I opened my mouth and drained the glass of all it's contents. It tasted like brownies with the chocolate chips still melting, like my mom used to make them. (I wasn't looking at what I was typing an I accidentally typed chocolate hips instead of choccolate chips. Yeah. 'Brownies with the chocolate hips still melting.')

I felt the pain vanish and the wound heal. "What did you make me drink, daddy? And what was the golden stuff on the floor?" "Hush," Chiron said gently. "What you drank was magic. You must have hit your head, because there was no golden stuff. Now go to sleep and you'll feel much better when you wake up."

"No." I said, pouting. "I'm going outside." I jumped off the table and ran off, giggling. I walked out to the Aphrodite cabin and grabbed a picnic cloth from the front of the cabin. I skipped out the door of the cabin and the gate to camp. I raced into the woods and laid out the picnic cloth.

I sat down and started humming I closed my eyes and was almost asleep when I heard a loud, shrill, and bloodcurdling scream. I got up and ran as fast as my little three year old legs would carry me. And I'm proud to say that I ran towards the noise, not away from it.

I stumbled to a stop as I spotted three people running towards me with a giant, one eyed thing running behind them. Even though I was scared out of my mind, I managed to make my voice sound calm and called to the three people. "Run towards the golden gate. I'll be right behind you." The elder girl with spiky black hair and electric blue eyes and looked like she was about twelve, shook her head and called back, "no way. You are running ahead of us all. Annabeth will be with you in the front, and ma and Luke will run behind."

I ran towards them and straight up to the one eyed thing. The girl screamed and picked me up. She handed the squirming me to the boy, presumably Luke, and said, "take her to camp with Annabeth. I'll catch up."Luke nodded and took the little girl, presumably Annabeth,'s hand with his free one, and started running. We were almost at the gate when Luke dropped me on the ground.

"Annabeth, stay here and keep the girl here too. I'll be back soon." Annabeth nodded and took hold of my shoulders. I struggled against her grip. "Let me go with you, Luke. I'll help fight off the ugly thing." But Luke was already gone.

I turned to Annabeth. "Hi. My name's Summer Raven. You must be Annabeth. What's your last name?" "I'm Annabeth Chase and there's no time for talking. We've got to... Actually, there is time for talking. Hello. How are you. You realize your ugly thing was actually a mo-neeeeevvvvveeeerrrrr mind. You're only three. Too young to know."

"Know wha-" just then Luke came running out of the woods. "RUN!!!!" He screamed. The girl was behind and the thing was dangerously close to her. I was frozen in fear and shock, and so was Annabeth. The ugly thing swung his club and hit the girl in the back. (I don't know the real story or what happened to the cyclops. I'm making this up) The girl came flying out the forest and landed next to the camp gate with a sickening thud. "THALIA!!!!!!!!!!!" Annabeth screamed, horrified. I guess Thalia was the girl's name. I ran over to where Thalia was lying as fast as I could. Even though it had only been a little while since I met her, I had some

I kneeled down at Thalia's side. "Thank you for saving me. I'd be dead without you. You remind me of someone. I just can't remember who." Thalia laughed softly. "That's funny. You remind me of some one too." Annabeth kneeled down next to me. Tears were running down her face. "Will you ever be a normal human again?" "Was I ever really normal?" She took a last deep breath and closed her eyes for the last time.

I started crying hysterically. "NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Luke wiped the tears off his face and picked me up. He carried me into camp and to Chiron. When Chiron saw me in Luke's arms crying like that he took me from Luke and said, "Everything will be okay little one. Everything will be okay." He carried me up to my room, put me in my bed, pulled a blanket over me, and turned off the light. "Good night, sweet dreams and don't let the bed bugs bite."

I was still crying, even in bed, but then I remembered my mother's smile, and the sweet voice that said, "Everything will be okay little one. Everything will be okay." Soon, the tears stopped coming and I fell into a deep, dreamless sleep, the words echoing in my ears all night.(sound familiar?)
