Narrator POV:
Chiron had heard the news about Summer and was galloping towards the infirmary. Summer had been like the daughter he never had.
But no matter what happened he had to keep his oath. He had no idea what he was going to tell her.
He knew that he couldn't just tell her the truth. He raced into the infirmary. Suddenly he thought of something.
Summer POV:
I groaned and sat up. "Where am I ?" I asked groggily. "Summer, you are in your room in the Big House." A voice answered. "Why do you ask?"
Then it all came flooding back to me. "Th-th-that didn't really happen, did it?" I was trembling as I said it. "What are you talking about my dear?"
I realized that the mysterious person was none other than Chiron, who was like the father I never had.I felt weak with relief when I realized that all that must have been a dream, nothing more. I got up and stretched.
"What time is it?" Chiron laughed. "It's 10:00 a.m! I came to wake you up. You missed breakfast!" I groaned. "Why didn't you wake me up before?!"
"Well, I thought maybe since you looked so peaceful, I should let you sleep." I shook my head disbelievingly. "I looked PEACEFUL?! I was having a nightmare!"
Chiron shrugged. "Well then I'm very sorry for letting you sleep in." I sighed. "I'll just get dressed and come down for a LATE breakfast."
------------Time Skip all the way from the beginning of summer to the middle of winter when Percy and Thalia arrive with Nico and Bianca------------
I flopped down on a chair next to Dionysus. "When are Percy, Annabeth and Thalia going to get here with the newbies?"I complained. "Well, we don't even know that all of those brats are going to come back anyway, my raven."
I rolled my eyes. "Way to cheer me up after the worst day ever." Oh, and if you're wondering, Dionysus is like a second father to me. He's taken to calling me his raven. It's a sweet nickname, actually. Right, on with the story.
Just then, the door burst open to reveal Percy and Thalia with two strangers. One of them was a pale boy, about my age(10). He had curly black hair and and chocolate brown eyes. It looked to me like he was on a sugar rush.
He looked ready to explode with excitement. The other one was a girl. She looked almost exactly the same as the boy, except her hair was longer and less curly and her eyes were a little darker. She looked confused and nervous like a normal newbie should. She was holding the boy's hand, so I guess she was his older sister.
I frowned. "Where's Annabeth?" Thalia didn't say anything, but her eyes were glistening with... Were those tears?!"Never mind about that." Percy squeaked, his voice trembling. Tears were pooling in his eyes. "Oh gods." I said, shaking violently. "She's dead, isn't she." Percy looked down sadly "We don't know that for sure."
"What happened?" I asked weakly."There was a manticore. We were fighting it off, protecting the newbies... (Percy told Summer the entire story, but I don't remember it.)" By the end of the story, I had my head in my hands and was sobbing. Thalia was standing over me, rubbing circles in my back.
"It's okay." She said gently. "She's alive. We're going to find her and rescue her. Everything will be allright." But the tears running down her cheeks did nothing to make the statement believable. The two newbies looked very uncomfortable watching us cry.
For their sakes, I wiped my face with the back of my hand, but the tears kept on coming. "Good Night" I said. I raced up the stair and ran into my room. I walked to the bathroom and splashed my face with ice cold water. I buried my face in a towel and let the tears flow.I wiped my face and lay down on my bed and wrapped myself in a cocoon of blankets. I closed my eyes and focused on the only thing about my mother I remembered.
A warm, sweet smile and a beautiful voice that said, "Everything will be okay little one. Everything will be okay." I stopped shaking and drifted into a deep, dreamless sleep, the words echoing in my ears all night.
A/N Well Hello again! BTW, I did alot of editing on the first chapter, Info on Summer. Well, that is, if you haven't noticed already. Sooooooo. I'm back! And surprise! I made a percabeth fanfic, Eternal Love.
