I sulked to the river's bend to go talk to Innoissaan about kova and Ujo running into her. Well more like rolling into but same thing I guess. Anyway she really liked to try to hunt fish in the river, mom always tells her not too because she might get swept away but she never listens, so I walking there to go see if she was there. Turns out she was right in the middle of the river, there she stood.
Her legs were strong from training to fish in the river, but also from the excessive play times with Kova. Her coat was almost pure white like mine but hers was streaked with black and her entire face was deep brown. She was a easily excited pup. When we would go practice in the fields she would always be the first one there. Innoissan was,as we say, a very hyper puppy. But she has a very sweet demeanor that you just can't say no to her.
"Hey! Amkia! What are you up to in this part of the river?" She said as she bounded across the river to meet me at the shore," I just happen to have heard from Kova that you tipped them off about a place full of bones and stuff. I was just wondering if that place happened to be the eagle's nest by the forest, you know the one where mom told us not to go!" She tried to give me a confused look but then bursted put laughing in her hyena laugh."They really listened to that! Hahahahaha! Well sorrryyyyyy I didn't know they would listen to me!"
She trotted back to the cave since it was an hour after sun high. When ever she ran it looked like a great galloping horse. I grunted in frustration and slowly walked back to the cave.Storm clouds were forming all around and I knew it would rain soon. But on my way back I heard a crack of a stick and a quick rustle of leaves. I lowered my body as close to the ground as I could and crawled toward the noise. As I approached I heard heavy breathing behind a tree. Then a chipmunk jumped out from behind the tree! I yelped and jumped back, but of course I missed the landing and tumbled down the steep hill toward the river.
I keep tumbling and rolling down the slope. I knew that I would hit the water soon and be cast down the stream of rushing water and rocks. I cried out as loud as I could, but deep down inside I knew that no one could hear me above the loud cracks of lighting and bursts of thunder that had started just moments ago. I started to feel water on my coat which I though was the river water cascading over me about to engulf me into the black abyss of the river. The only not so deep part is where innoissan would stand, in the middle.
I heard four big paws pounding against the ground. As wind whipped in my face I continued to cry for help, the I hear someone yell,"Amika!" I felt a strong force pick me up, the sudden stop jerked me forward but the force held on. I could see bright lights glittering in the sky above me. The voice said,"Hold on young one, don't give up keep fighting. I don't want to lose another one!" I Hadn't noticed that I've gotten severe blows to the head and body as I tumbled down the slope. The sky was darkening around me as The voice got quieter and quieter."No no no! Amika stay with me! Please!" I had the sudden urge to keep my eyes open and well live! I started to fight the heavy urge to sleep.
I started to move my limbs and whimper because the pain in my leg started to really hurt as I woke.,"there's my little fighter." My mom licked my face and snuggled a little closer to me. I dozed off next to my mom, she was very warm and comfortable. I looked up to the ceiling of our den. The crystals looked as if stars were shining upon us. Wishing us a good night. The bright lights in the darkest of nights, as my mom always says,"the one who shows us the way may never astray." I heard my mom humming our puppy lullaby as she does every night,"OOOOooo Oooo Aooooo sleep good my little one."
