Spoiler question: who do you think has entered Rose's room?

                                   6. Confess and reveal

"Sometimes, it's the princess who kills the dragon and saves the prince..."

The weather outside was stormy and so was the atmosphere inside the conference room. The Chinese multinational company wanted to buy the biggest iron- mining company of Redmond, but their delegates were hard negotiators. Neither did they back down nor were they revealing their true intentions.

"We want to hear the perspective of the palace about the Ferrum Group," said their main spokesman and everyone in the room turned to their side. The head of the table was empty, but on the right and left were sitting the prince and princess. Dignitaries, ambassadors, ministers, lawyers were waiting for their response.

"Your Highness, Prince Alexander, please present us the diagram," his father instructed.

The prince leafleted the papers in front of him one by one, but, finally, he shrugged nonchalantly. He didn't find any interest in this subject.

"I don't have it."

"I'm sure you do," Lord Corterel insisted. "Search better."

He did another vain effort, while the tension was obviously increasing. The leader of the opposition was smiling ironically, while some of the people around the table huffed.

"Mr. Corterel," Rose said loudly, but her voice was shaky. "I apologize. His Highness handed the diagram to me yesterday, so I could take a final look. I forgot to return it back. Here it is with a thorough study of the incomes of the mines."

Alexander looked at her with curiosity, as she apologized to the men again and handed Lord Corterel the papers. He returned from Monaco last night and from the airport, he went straight to a restaurant and then at a night club to meet some friends. He had no idea what this bloody diagram was.

Two hours later, after the end of the meeting, his heavy steps led him to his father's office. Behind the closed doors, he found his father sitting behind the heavy cedar office, talking on the phone. Around him, there were state employees, five ambassadors, and three ministers. He searched the room and soon, he found Roselyn in the corner alone and pensive. Her eyes were concentrated on the floor and she was holding the very same folder really tight in her embrace.

Once the phone call was over, Lord Corterel raised his head and his face took the shape of a storm.

"The Chinese declined the proposition."

A justified wave of commotion raised inside the office. The negotiations weren't successful and the Redmonian state would lose fifty hundred million dollars. Lord Corterel landed on the chair and ran his hands through his gray hair.
