I cannot undo

What I have done

I can't un-sing

A song that's sung

And the saddest thing

About my regret-

I can't forgive me

And you can't forget.

Betrayal, Lang Leav

The blueberry cheesecake was exquisite. Its creamy white chocolate flavor was a temptation. No, no temptations again. The lamb was also delicious and the guests seemed satisfied. The U.S. senator, the Redmonian Prime Minister and the Minister of Economics accompanied by their wives were sitting around the table engaged in a vivid discussion about the main shareholders of a company. The women were exchanging fashion advice and discussing about famous designers. Roselyn was well informed about fashion now and she was replying spontaneously and without great effort.

During his limited leisure time, he was mostly exercising in the palace's gym or in the swimming pool. Sometimes, he was visiting Philip's mansion and from what she had heard from Jade, he wasn't cheerful at all.

The marks on their bodies had started to fade, but the mind and they heart couldn't erase the memories. It wasn't that she had regretted succumbing to his charms. It was just that... she didn't trust him. He was erratic and almost bipolar. From one minute to another, he could react unexpectedly, a thing that was making him dangerous

After an hour or so, it was time for the guests to depart. The Senator and his wife, who were invited to reside at the palace, were escorted to one of the lavish guesthouses by Hudson, leaving the two monarchs all alone. Roselyn, feeling the tension emanating in the atmosphere, was the first to get up. She murmured goodnight and placed the small linen napkin at the edge of the table.

"Sit," he almost demanded, and his voice was so sharp that immobilized her completely, his eyes never leaving the table. "I need to talk to you."

"Alexander," she snorted nervously. "I have to prepare for the meeting with the archbishop. I'm sure it can wait till..."
