It was currently two in the morning and school was just five hours away. I told myself that I was going to go to bed early, just so that I knew that I wouldn't wake up late and/or groggy and grumpy.

At first, I really did try to go to sleep. I laid down at eleven and tried to trick my mind into falling asleep. But then my phone started buzzing under me and when I seen the name, I immediately said fuck sleep.

So, here we are two hours later.

Julian was sitting in his familiar red chair, playing 2k. Meanwhile, I was laying in bed while watching Netflix. We did this often, where we'd be on FaceTime at night and not talking too much to each other. But the silence we shared wasn't awkward or uncomfortable. Even if we weren't talking, the known presence of him was all that I needed to feel okay.

"Kendall," I heard him say my name. Looking back up at the phone screen, I seen Julian standing up with the controller in his hands. "Don't you got a PS4?"

I nod at him, "Yeah. Why?"

"Add me so I can continuously kill you in GTA," he chuckled

"No."

"Come on, stop being like that."

"I don't wanna."

I look at him and see him roll his eyes while throwing the controller down on the table beside him, "Fuck it."

Laughing, I turn over. "I'm going to sleep, lil boy. We have school in the morning."

"Kendall, wake up," I hear a sluggish voice. With my eyes still closed, I groan. "Kendall, your alarm is going off. Do you not feel the vibration?" This time he had a hint of attitude in his voice.

After sighing and silently wishing that time would stop, I open my eyes and turn off the alarm. I see Julian's blonde hair sticking up from under the covers. I smile, knowing he fell asleep with me last night. And for some reason, I don't feel sleepy or tired. I honestly just feel happy.

"I'm up, gosh. Are you?"

He groans, "Barely."

I slightly laugh, "Get up."

Within the next few minutes, we said our goodbyes and I finally got up out of bed.

I have school today.

The realization finally hit me.

The familiar sound of people talking and laughing filled my eardrums. Looking to the right of me, I seen the schools media center. Calling Nadia, I started walking towards it. This is my first time ever transitioning school and I honestly feel so lost.

This is my junior year, everyone already has their cliques.

"Hello?" I hear Nadia's voice over the speaker.

"Hey, where are you? I'm in the media center, sitting in the back."

"I'm at the lockers with Ally, we're coming."

I nod as if she could see me, "Alright."

Everyone had to be in their homerooms by 8:40 and it was currently 8:23. I always hated getting to school early. I hate hearing the loudness and I'm normally blasting music in my ears by now, I'm actually surprised myself that I'm not.

Looking up, I seen Nadia and Ally walk towards me.

"Hey," they both said with a smile.

"Hiya," I say.

They both take a seat across from me. "What brings ya down here?" Ally asks.

"My freakin' parents," I reply with an eye roll.

She slightly laughs, "What?"

As I explain to her, time flies by and before you know it, the warning bell had rung, indicating that we had 5 minutes to get to class. With Nadia and Ally by my side, they help me find my homeroom class.

The class was full of people I didn't know and I became a little nervous. Taking a seat in the back, I began playing on my phone and putting my headphones in.

I still can't believe summer's over.
