Cameron's hands rested on either side of her face. He knew that she meant more to him than anything. He knew that Garrett was long gone, and they would never meet again. The siege had lasted long enough. The explosives in the base of the function centre were nearly ready to detonate. She was hyperventilating.
"I am truly sorry. You will never know the truth... But I have to go" Tana said softly.
As he turned away, she caught his arm, spun and kissed him, amongst their tears. He pulled away. And marched into the building, crying and not looking back. He caught sight of the helicopter.
He climbed into the canopy, ignoring the gunshots directed at him. He armed the hellfire missiles. The countdown began. The first thing he did was retrieve the Apache Longbow's communications system. He radioed the law enforcement outside.
"Officer, this is Cameron Montana" he managed to get out. "Is she there?".
"Yes sir, I'll put her on" replied the police officer. One minute left.
"Tana?" She choked up.
"I'm here" he replied. "I'm so sorry. I never wanted to end like this... I... I... I don't know how to verbalise... Wait! I... I... I do...". He would never see her smile.
"I love you. I have loved you since the moment we met. I know I've done some things and so have you, but I no longer care, it doesn't change how I feel. Now it does scare me. Everything I think, say, and do scares me. But it is how I feel and there is no running from it" he said among the tears. She was so proud of him. Twenty seconds. He heard her tears over the radio.
"Are you there?" he said after a few seconds.
"I'm here" she choked.
"Are you at a safe distance?" He asked.
"Yes! The only one in the radius is you, Beck, and Xylophilus... Please... I'm... I'm sorry... I never... I...". He promptly cut her off with: "No. If anyone here is sorry it's me. Just don't worry about me for once. That's all I ask". Ten seconds.
He waited around four seconds before opening the line again.
"I love you, Zoey Darmanin. Now and forever..." He coughed up.
"I love y-" the reply was cut off by the zero second counter.
The windows of the convention hall exploded as the roof plummeted directly down, basically dropping two hundred feet in three seconds, constantly accelerating. The fiery explosion obliterated the convention centre, destroying everything inside it.
During the chain reaction, Cam exited the helicopter and slowly walked toward nothing in particular. Just a wall. The explosions and collapses around him were interrupted by the falling ceiling.
From outside, the fireball blinded every bystander for a sizeable amount of time. Ms Welker went into hysterics.
Suddenly, Cameron opened his eyes, and he was on the floor of his donger again, this time with Garrett next to him.
"TANA!" Kooi exclaimed.
On his way home, Tana saw something that threw him off. What he saw in the distance, walking out of the school, made him comedically rub his eyes before hyperventilating. Flashes from his visions burst through his mind at the speed of light. He remembered everything once again.
He couldn't take his eyes off her, walking out of the school. The tall and pretty Zoey Darmanin. That's when the voices appeared. He could not hear them, but he knew they were there. The words were impossible to understand, but they could be heard. Everything else was mere static to Montana.
