Rene:

I smiled as the bell rang, realising that the guy, Cameron, wouldn't of been able to follow me even if he wanted to. I sat at a desk in the back of the class and watched as more people streamed into the classroom, some looking at me as they passed. I looked back down at my desk and drummed my fingers.

Period 6 was biology. At my old school I liked biology. I loved learning about the tiny things that made up the world and how our bodies worked.

When the teacher came in I nearly burst out laughing. He was short and looked very old. His hair was exactly what I pictured a mad scientist's to look like; frizzy and sticking out in every direction. His glasses were pushed up onto the explosion of hair and his lab coat reached his ankles.

"He's 71 next month. Don't ask me why he hasn't retired yet."

I turned to see who said that, I found myself looking into a pair of brown eyes.

"Sorry, what?" I frowned at the girl looking at me.

"He's 71 next month." The girl repeated. She had blue and pink hair that stopped above her shoulders. Her eyebrows were way overdrawn but she had pretty features. She smiled at me slightly.

"The name's Nina."

"Ren-" She interrupted me halfway through saying my name.

"I already know who you are," She rolled her eyes but she was still smiling, "the whole school is talking about you."

I frowned. My attention was drawn to the door as someone walked in. The girl I punched in the hallway. I smirked at her when she looked at me and if looks could kill, I would be dead. Both her eyes were bruising and her nose was the slightest bit crooked and also bruising.

"Damn! Who did that! I've been waiting to punch Laura Simmons for 3 years!"

I turned back to the girl, Nina, and smiled at her. "I did."

I didn't say anything else to the girl throughout the lesson, and she didn't say anything to me. I figured I had scared her off.

Good. I thought.

When the bell rang, signifying the end of class, I picked up my stuff and moved to leave. As I was walking through the door I felt someone catch up to me. It was Nina.

"Did you really punch her?"

I glanced at her but continued walking, "yeah."

"Lucky bìtch!" She continued walking next to me when all of a sudden she started yelling. "Get the fùck off me, Zach!" I turned to catch her punch some guy in the face. "Next time it'll be your balls!"

She marched off and I followed her.

"What happened there?"  I asked. Now it was me struggling to keep up.

"He grabbed my ass." I looked at her and her face was bitter and hard, and I knew that expression very well. All of a sudden I thought of my dad.

"What did you say to me?"

*SMACK*

I felt my face mimic hers.

All of a sudden she stopped. "Wanna punch people together?" I figured this was her way of asking if I wanted to be friends. I was about to say no when all of a sudden I felt my mouth smiling and saying "yes."
