Rene:

Ugh, why did Jake have to ask that guy to take him home?

The image of Cameron flashed in my mind, his hazel eyes and golden hair and -

SHUT UP.

The image disappeared.

Taking a bite from my apple I flopped on the couch and turned on the TV. I sighed happily as I realised I had survived the first day of school.

I mean sure, you punched someone in the face but like who doesn't do that on the first day of school?

I took another bite from my apple and continued to think about the day. However my thoughts were interrupted when someone walked into the room. I turned my head to see who it was. Of course it was Cameron. I rolled my eyes at him and he grinned.

"Didn't realise you'd be in here."

I sighed, looking at him. "Didn't realise you'd still be here."

He grinned at me again and I rolled my eyes again.

"Can you leave? I'm trying to watch TV."

"Your brother told me to come in here while he got the video games."

"You're staying here longer?"

He smirked at me again, and sat down on the couch, way too close to where I was sitting. I stood up and moved to the other couch. I watched him look me up and down quickly but then settle his eyes on mine.

I smiled sarcastically at him, "just giving you some space to play your video games."

"Of course." He stretched out and looked at me as I tried my best to concentrate on the TV. No matter what the Kardashians said, they couldn't seem to catch my full attention. I took a breath and looked back at Cameron.

"Will you quit staring at me?"

He laughed lightly and looked away. Without realising it I was now staring at him. He was wearing his school basketball jersey, which showcased his well built arms and shoulders. His hair was slightly tousled and-

"Now who's staring at who?" He laughed. I felt myself go bright red but recovered quickly. I bit into my apple and went back to looking at the TV. I heard him get up and move next to me. I flinched and shuffled up the couch until I was touching the side. I let out a breath of relief when he didn't move closer to me but then sucked it right back in when he did. He moved so close our legs were touching.

"You gonna give me your number?" He whispered close to my ear. I forced my body not get goosebumps.

"I already told you I wasn't." I didn't dare look at him so I continued to stare at the TV even though I wasn't taking in anything it was saying.

"Well alright then." He moved away from me and I realised I was holding my breath. I turned to look at him, making sure I had hardened my expression. He just grinned at me. Just as I was about to say something, Jake walked in holding a bunch of video games. I stood up quickly while Cameron just laughed at me with his eyes. Jake frowned and looked between the two of us.

"Umm... sorry did I interrupt something?"

I looked at Cameron, he smirked at me and then I looked back to Jake.

"No. No! I was just leaving."

And with that I marched out of there and up to my room.
