Harley knocked on the door and entered with me behind her.

he stood calmly behind the desk, emotionless. it was quite intimidating

"im sorry daddy" i  whispered

"did you just call me daddy?" he asked with no emotion

"im sorry its just..." I stammered quickly but before I could finish I was engulfed in his arms, "youre not mad?"

"no im proud" he smiled "no one has ever spoke to bats like that. who is nightshade?"

"my reflective demon"i whispered looking away in shamë

"she is brilliant. you my girl are brilliant" his eyes lit up in excitement, "tell me more"

ïm im im..."I struggled to finish, "im half demon half angel"

"so what?" 

"I have powers but I need to learn them all. my father says that I have many powersthat I am able to gain" i whisper, "I had a twin, kiora. her demon consumed her. my father thought htat she was useless but I protected her. I..."

"what did you do?" Harley asked intently 

"I fused with her. I thought I could save kiora but when we fused, midnight, my lone demon, fused with shadow, compromising the process and making my sister mortal and creating what my father called an ultimate demon, nightshade."i shuddered at the memory, "I watched her die in my arms. I let her die. my sister"

I began to sob

"she is with you" Harley comforted

"no she isn't. being a hybrid of an angel and demon we have no souls to live through the afterlife, we are immortal. we have no soul. " I wiped away my tears, "that was years ago though this is now"

I stood taller

"I promise to do better next time" I said proudly

"no" my father told me, "I want you to be safe""

"but..."I started to defend myself

"no ace, you are my daughter and tonight proves you aren't ready to be in this business yet" he said firmly, "go to bed. its been a long night for everyone"

I walked up the stairs to my room and just fell asleep on the floor unable to make it to the bed.
