*Grace's point of view*

I've been looking out of the window of the cafe that I work at for what has felt like hours. It's been a very slow day but what else is new? I'm so sick of this job. All I really want to do is have a job that deals with music in some type of way. Music is my everything...all because of one band who made me fall completely in love with them...Bastille.

I start to hum Pompeii to pass the time but I'm interrupted by someone walking through the door on this rainy day. I turn to look at who enters and my heart drops as I see my best friend walk through the door. I haven't seen her for months because she's been away to visit family so I run up to her and give her a gigantic hug.

Before Emily can say anything I say "You asshole, how dare you not even tell me you were coming back from Ireland today!"
"I guess I forgot." She responds to me with a cheesy grin and a little shrug.
"Ive missed you!"
"I've missed you too, Gracie!" I cringe at her calling me 'Gracie'. Emily knows that I prefer just Grace but she doesn't care. She's my best friend so of course we will try to irritate the shit out of each other for fun.

"When do you get off work, I have plans for us this evening." "I get off at 5." I check my phone to see what time it is. To my surprise it's already 4:32. "Which is about a half an hour from now actually so do you want to just wait here?"

"Sure, why not." Em says...God only knows what she has planned for this evening. Last time she told me she had something planned we ended up on a plane to North America. Hopefully this time she's not quite as spontaneous.

Curious, I ask what we will be doing but typical Emily responds with "It's a surprise." She's lucky I put up with her, but thinking about it now...I'm lucky she puts up with me.

As time gets closer to me getting off work, Emily and I catch up. It feels like it has been forever since we have had a chance to have a genuine conversation. Nobody is coming into the cafe so we aren't interrupted, which is nice.

It's now about 5 till 5. Karl, who works the next shift, should be coming soon. Karl has tried to ask me out many times and he's very sweet but just not my type. He's a good friend to me though and I couldn't ask for a better coworker.

Karl walks in and says hello to Emily and I. I let him know that today was slow and it probably will continue to be for his shift. Karl responds saying "When isn't it slow here, our job sucks." He chuckles and I nod my head agreeing with him. "Well we have to get going so we will see you later!" Emily chimes in as she grabs my arm and practically drags me out of the cafe.

Once outside Emily tells me to meet her at my place. My place is a wreck so I ask her if we could go to hers instead. "No. No. No. We are meeting at your house miss stubborn." Fine miss sassy I think to myself but I just nod and get in my car and head to my flat.

Emily drives faster than me so she arrives before me. She is standing in the door way of my front door.  How in the hell did she even get in, last time I checked she didn't have a key. I get out of my car and look at her questioningly. "What??? It's not my fault you can't hide your spare key better." She says innocently. I mock her words in an annoying voice, and push past her into my flat.

"So now what's the plan?" I ask. Emily looks at me and says "Well we are going to go shopping." I hate shopping with a burning passion so I know she has to be lying. "Emily, come on now" I say and roll my eyes being a little over dramatic. "Well I just figured you would want to buy a new outfit to wear to the concert in two weeks." She says as she points to my kitchen table. I look and on my table lays two concert tickets to go see Bastille at a venue near us. My eyes widen and my jaw drops in shock. I run over to my best friend and practically jump on her hugging her. I am half crying and yelling "You are the best best best friend I have ever had and I love you to death."

"My gosh Grace calm down a bit. Breathe girl breathe...Anyways! Like I said we have to go get outfits for the concert! Now let's go." I can't believe this is actually happening. In two short weeks I will be face to face with Bastille. This is wicked.
