"Are You Going to Age with Grace?" A Dan Smith Fanfic

Chapter 5

While Walking off the stage, Will asks Dan why he was talking to that guard before the last song. "Oh, I just saw a girl in the crowd and thought I would ask him to bring her backstage." He shrugs trying not to make it a big deal because he knows that his band mates will most definitely try to embarrass him. Will understandingly looks at him and says "Don't worry I won't tell Woody or Kyle." They were both further behind Dan and Will so they weren't hearing this conversation at all.

Will walks off to the bathroom and Dan just kind of stands at an awkward spot hoping to spot the security guard with the girl. Woody and Kyle walk up to Dan and ask if he would like to go get some drinks. "You guys go ahead. I'm not really feeling it tonight guys." Dan lies. Kyle puts a hand on Dan's head. "Are you sick or something?? Since when would you pass up on drinks."

"Im fine..." Dan says as he pushes Kyle's hand away. "...I'm just meeting someone soon." They look at him with confused looks. "Guys, just don't ask right now."  "Woody spots Will and goes over to talk with him, but of course, Kyle stays.

Dan spots the security guard along with two girls trailing behind him. "Just please don't embarrass me or make me look stupid." He says quickly to Kyle. Grace spots Dan and they share a smile and walk towards each other. After the security guard sees that he got her and her friend to Dan, he nods to them and walks away.

"So um, the security guard said that you r-requested him to bring me back here." Grace stutters a little bit because she is so nervous. Dan smiles "Why yes I did" Dan says more confidently than he expected he could. "What is your name?"  He asks sweetly. "I'm Grace, and this is Emily." She says gesturing to her friend. "Nice to meet you, I'm Dan and this is Kyle."  Kyle and Emily were just staring at each other. Dan leans towards you and whispers..."Well I guess that is what we probably looked like when we were staring at each other during the song." Grace and Dan both laugh causing Emily and Kyle to look at them.

"Kyle, why don't you go introduce Emily to Woody and Will. I'm sure she would like that." Kyle gets the hint to leave them alone. He walks off talking with Emily headed towards the two members of the band, leaving Dan and Grace alone.

"So may I ask why you started creepily staring at me in the first place?" She asks looking a little confused but laughs. "I guess it was kind of creepy wasn't it? I...um...to be honest I really have no clue why." He looks down to the ground. "You happened to catch my eye and I just couldn't look away for some reason...but hey you creepily stared back at me." He laughs mocking you for saying he was creepily staring at you before.

"Well I was watching you sing and "Torn Apart" is my favorite song from you guys and I noticed you were looking around, then we made eye contact and it's like something was drawing me to keep my eyes locked with yours."

"Well let's see where the night takes us shall we? The guys and I were gonna go out for drinks, would you please join us?" "Sure, what have I got to loose?" He smiles and takes you over to the guys and Emily. "Woody, Will, this is Grace."  "Hello, it's nice to meet you" Grace replies kindly. They smile warmly. "So I'm ready to go for some drinks...lets go!"

They all decide on a local club. "Emily and I will meet you all there." Grace says. With that they all split up and head out. The place is about 5 minutes away from the venue they were just at. Grace and Emily arrive first and go inside and order a drink. People are dancing, drinking, and they are just having a wicked time. The Bastille members walk in and spot the girls and go sit with them. Of course Dan sits beside Grace and Kyle sits beside Emily. "You just couldn't wait for us?" Woody laughs gesturing to the drinks they were both holding.

"Oh, if you would have got here first you would've done the same thing!" Grace says to him loudly letting him hear her over the music. The guys all get some drinks and they all do a little "Cheers" and drink up.

After about two hours of drinking some pretty strong liquor, most of them are a drunk mess but Dan and Grace weren't as drunk as the others. Kyle and Emily are making out in the corner, Will is sitting at the bar half asleep, Woody is dancing like a crazy person, and Grace and Dan are playing a question game with shots. "We should probably get going." Dan says after a while. "I agree. We just have to round our friends up...I have a feeling Woody is going to be the hardest to get to leave." Grace says and points to a very drunk Woody doing some very interesting dance moves. Dan bursts out laughing. And they both are sitting there laughing for at least two minutes straight about Woody's dancing.

They eventually get up and go get the others. It was easier than they thought it would be. They all walk out together. "How far away do you live from here" Dan asks Grace knowing that it is time for them to go separate ways. "About two hours away." Dan looks down at his shoes for a few seconds in disappointment and then looks back up. "Well I mean you are kind of drunk so therefore you are in no condition to drive and I don't think we will be able to separate Kyle and Emily anyways so you and her should just stay with us tonight on the bus. We have tons of room and it's not a bother at all or anything. Plus there will be tons more music." Dan rambles out clearly just finding excuses to make you say. "That sounds great, Dan." 

Dan calls the driver who took the band there to come to pick them all up to take them back to the bus which was still at the venue. After the driver came they all went back to the tour bus but Dan and Grace sat alone outside for a little enjoying the night. They were sitting there talking and then fireworks started going off. They both had completely forgotten about them.

Their body's were turned towards each other but they're heads were both looking towards the fireworks. Out of the corner of her eye Grace notices Dan turned his head to look at her. She turns to look at him too and they both start to lean in...they share a sweet short kiss just as fireworks go off in the sky above them. Those weren't the only fireworks going on there that night.
