Grace is a 22 year old girl who finally is getting her chance to see her favorite band Bastille. What will happen if Dan notices her in the crowd? Will they become something? Will it last?
10...9...8...7...6...5...4...3...2...1 Grace hears the very familiar chant of the beginning of the song Pompeii. The band comes out on stage and she feels her heart pounding out of her chest. She cannot believe that this is real and actually happening. She looks over at Emily to see that she clearly already has her eyes glued to Kyle. Grace is looking at Dan. She feels this bizarre connection with him for some reason. He's even more attractive in person. They all sound so amazing. This whole experience is amazing. I can't believe I am really here. She thinks excitedly to herself.
Everyone is loving Pompeii and singing and dancing around...even though the song is technically about a very morbid event. Grace loves how Dan likes to write his songs off of stories he's read, movies, shows, characters etc. He is so unique and perfect to her.
After opening with Pompeii. Dan asks "How's everyone doing this evening? You alright?" Ahhhhhhh his voiceeeee. Grace thinks, fangirling a little bit. After Dan gets a variety of responses he proceeds to sweetly say "We hope you enjoy this next one." They start to play "Fake it."
Grace can see how much Dan is feeling the music. As the beginning of the song starts his movements go along perfectly with the beat of the music. She is mesmerized by watching him. He sings every note perfectly. The song comes to an end. "We want to say a massive thank you to everybody for coming out today, and I hear there are supposed to be some wicked fireworks about 3 hours after we finish up here...Sing along to this next one!"
Grace recognizes the song "Flaws" as they start playing again. Of course Daniel puts his grey jacket on and makes his way into the crowd. Sadly he didn't go up towards Grace and Emily but Grace was always watching him intently throughout the song.
After " Flaws" was finished Dan made his way back up to the stage, took his jacket off and started talking a bit more. He was thanking all of the band's amazing fans for all of their support.
By this point in time Grace was already getting disappointed that he didn't notice her. Why would I even think that he would notice me in this extremely large crowd. I'm so stupid. Why am I even disappointed right now. I just shouldn't have gotten my hopes up.
Grace snaps out of her thoughts and goes back to paying attention to what Dan has to say. Emily is now on her phone taking some zoomed in pictures of Kyle. "Just look at how sexyyyyy!!!" Emily remarks showing Grace the photos. "Yes, yes Emily. Whatever you say." They both then turn their attention back to the stage.
"Alright guys, so this is going to be really simple. All you have to do is get down when I tell you and then get up and start doing the pogo move, so basically just jump up and down...alright? Here we go!" Dan says. Grace always loved watching them perform "Of the Night" on videos but now she is actually there and is pumped up and is singing along and hopping around with the crowd. She thinks that everyone in the crowd can agree that when Daniel Campbell Smith tells you to get down, you get the fuck down. It is clear that everyone in the crowd is just having an awesome time.
After the song is over, Dan says "Thank you guys so much for doing that with me...because if you wouldn't have, I would have felt really dumb." He laughs adorably and then runs a hand through his hair.
They then start to play "Weight of Living." Grace and Emily both loved this song so much so they turn to each other and give each other a look that says "Hell yeah!" They sing along.
After that they played "Laura Palmer" which was simply amazing. The band still looked so energetic even after all the songs they had already played. "Two songs left!!! Thanks for sticking with us for so long!" Dan says and of course everyone in the crowd was thinking I don't want this to end. Especially Grace...she was getting so nervous that they weren't going to play her favorite song..."Torn Apart"
