*Author's Note*

Thanks to everyone who has voted and commented on my chapters! I love reading your comments.

*Miles' POV*

My anesthesia had worn off about an hour ago, but they weren't letting any visitors in until three hours after my surgery. Of course I let my parents come in first, but as awful as it sounds, the only person I really wanted to see was Alya. I was excited because I was planning to ask her out on our first date. I didn't know if she read my note or not, but either way I couldn't wait.

I heard the door open. Alya walked in gracefully, I could see the excitement on her face.

"I read it," She announced, holding up the note. I couldn't help but smile. That sparkle in her eyes, the way her hair fell down around her shoulders- wow. I couldn't believe I was actually going to do this.  "So what were you going to ask?" She questioned, even though a part of me knew that she had figured it out.

"I think you know," I laughed.

"I might, but would you mind explaining?" She joked.

"Alya Kendrick, would you like to go out with me?" I answered. Did I actually just say that?

*Alya's POV*

Did he actually just say that? What do I say? Well of course I'm going to say yes, but how? I nodded.

"Yes!" I exclaimed. He did it. He actually just asked me out. I reached for his and, taking it with both of mine. "I would love to go out with you Miles." I leaned in, carefully wrapping my arms around him for a hug. His cheek was pressed against mine, I didn't ever want to let him go. I whispered into his ear, "If I'm your princess, then what does that make you?"

"I don't know. Do you have any ideas?" he whispered back.

"Honeybun?" I asked

"Except that," he replied, making me laugh.

"I like it. I think it suits you," I told him. I broke our hug, trying to get serious. It was time that I told him. Everything.

"Miles, can we talk about something for a minute?" I asked.

"Of course," he replied curiously.

"I think it's time I tell you about, well you know," I started trailing off, I couldn't find the words.

"Okay, as long as you want to," he answered.

"I've been bullied since I was in fourth grade," I started, looking over at Miles. "That was when my social anxiety started. When that mixed in with the bullying and everything else in middle school got to be too much, that's when my depression started." He looked stunned. Like he couldn't believe that I'd said any of that. "I thought things would be better when I  got to Keaton. They weren't." My blank expression dropped. Tears started rolling  This wasn't the pat of my story that I could tell calmly. "You don't know everything Bianca said to me," I told him as I wiped the tears off my face.

"Alya, you need to tell somebody."

"I know, but it'll get even worse."

"I will always be here Alya," he assured me. My quiet tears turned into sobs. I don't know why I cried, but I did. Somehow I ended up beside Miles. He was holding me hand, brushing his thumb over the back of my hand softly. "Always."

Jax walked in, startling us both. Miles and I exchanged glances.

"What's this?" Jax asked, pointing to us.

"Should we tell him?" I asked Miles. He shrugged, laughing.

"Tell me what?"

"We're together," I told Jax, holding up Miles' and my hands.

"Since when?"

"Officially since about an hour ago," Miles told him.

"But really since yesterday," I added. We talked with Jax for a while before we both had to go back out into the waiting room, Miles had to have some tests run.

Things were going great, at least for now.
