I want to say thanks to all my readers that have been reading my story so far. I seriously didn't think I would get no more than 10 readers. So I'm thankful to you all! Hope you enjoy this chapter!
Jamie POV
I wake up with a start nearly falling off the comfy, enormous king sized bed. Quickly, getting out the bed and cowering to a corner, I make myself into a ball not bothering to see who is in the room. Because that's the reason why I woke up scared; I felt someone in the room.
I hear the loud panting getting nearer and nearer. How the hell did my dad get in here?! I start whimpering, hating myself for showing weakness. I cower away when I feel someone gently patting my head.
Wait...my dad would never do that. I sneak a loop between my haystack of my hair and see that it's only Daimon. I release a sigh not knowing I was holding my breath.
"Um..ah...Jamie?" Daimon asks nervously.
Weird. Why would Daimon be nervous? I stand up slowly and stare at him. I catch his eyes and he quickly avoids my stare. What's up with him? He clears his throat a few times, but still doesn't say anything.
"Yes, Daimon?" I watch how he stumbles over his words.
"Jaime. I-I...um" He runs his hands through his hair looking frantic. For some reason, Daimon looks abashed. Huh? I wonder why. "Do y-you want to...um...you n-need...I need you to s-sleep in room for now on," he says in a haste looking flustered.
"What!" I shriek at him, not believing what he just told me. He flinches back because of my shriek.
I glare at him and note the blush on his high cheek bones. My eyes soften at the sight. Jeez...is he really the same guy who always get into fights in our school?
Daimon observes his shoes as if it's the most interesting thing in the whole world. He shifts his weight to one foot to the other.
"I'm sorry," he tells me with a quick glance at me, but goes back at looking at his shoes. "I didn't mean it that way. It came out wrong." He exhales slowly as if preparing himself for something monumental. He gazes into my eyes," My dad is coming back tonight and I don't want him knowing you're here," he states.
"Why?" I mumble quietly. "Is it because you're ashamed of me?"
He gives me an incredulous look. "What! No, it's not because of that. I-it's...none of your business," he responds finally.
I stare at him stunned not knowing what to say.
"I don't understand why I have to move into your room. If you don't want your dad to know that I'm here, then Jace and I will just leave. We'll sleep in some motel or something," I reply.
"Over my dead fucken body will you be living out on your own!" He shouts at me. My eyes go wide as I see him walking the last few steps towards me.
"It's too dangerous for a person like you to be living out there on your own," he says gently. Is this one of his mood swings right now? I nod at him not wanting to anger him.
He smiles at me looking relieved. "Good. Then it's settled; grab your bags and put them in my room. I'll go get Jace while you move the bags into my room." Daimon gives me a small smile before leaving the room.
I grab all of my toiletries and shove in my handbag and grab my other duffel bags. Heading to Daimon's room, I hear him talking to Jace.
"Come here, little guy time to go with Jamie." I hear a chair being pushed back and then their footsteps on the granite stairs.
