When I woke up I was at home, tired, cold, and wet. I sat up but fell back with a sharp pain in the spot where my heart was. Tears started streaming down my cheeks. I laid back and let out a strong exhale.

"Oof!" The pain worsened more I tried to stop it. A cold hand pushed my shoulder back lightly. It only made the pain sting, just by how cold the hand was. My body was shaking but it was hardly noticeable.

"Stay down." A cold voice said. I looked up, yet again another person I hadn't known stared me down. This guy was about eighteen by my guess. My eyes widened, every feature checked out, fangs, green eyes, pale skin, black hair, strong arms. He was definitely a vampire. But he looked older than James and Bryant.

"Who are you?" I asked quietly. My heartbeat slowed and pain went through my body, I clenched my teeth. "What's happening to me?" I asked freaking out.

He put his hand down on my shoulder harder holding me down. "Don't try anything, I will take you down." His voice sounded full of authority. My eyes widened the tiniest bit. That's when I saw him, the boy at the library, I started to yell to the top of my lungs, but as soon as I took a breath my heart stopped and tears ran down my cheeks faster. I felt weak and helpless for no reason at all, I felt sad, and angry at myself, and missing something.

The man in front of me sat down on the couch by my legs and rolled his eyes.

"Stop already, you're not really hurt. You're under an influence of hormonal contamination. Sheesh! Stop crying already!" He stood up and walked to the kitchen and talked quietly but infuriated at the boy. Then shouting but only to him, I suddenly heard a sharp smack on skin.

"Stop." His sweet familiar voice said. I froze, my heart still hurting. Just hearing the voice made the pain worse.

"Get in there and clean up your mess right now or I'll tell him to do it for you! Understand idiot?"

I thought I heard grumbling or something similar but- Crack- I sat up immediately.

"Fix her before she passes out again or else Devin will have both are heads!" The man growled.

My heart started to pound against my rib cage. They both turned the kitchen corner impossibly fast and their nostrils flared.

I remembered something Richard had said to me about my heart...What was it? Oh yeah, it had something to do with me being very edible when my heart gave way like this...Oh. I gulped, I jumped off the couch but fell on my knees holding the spot where my heart would be. I couldn't even scream, I gave a hoarse choking noise instead.

"Let her go!" barked the older man. The other guy kept staring at me watching me crumple on the floor in pain. The older man pushed him forward his eyes flickered the color black once and he leaped for me. The elder man grabbed him by the waist and pulled him back.

"Stop this at once, Jase!" So Jase was the boy's name. Jase struggled out of the man's arms and jumped midair, yet to be stopped by a quick shadow that knocked him sideways. My heart felt fine. I took in a quick breath and watched from the floor. Soon Jase turned into a clouded shadow, the man stepped aside when another ball of darkness came to it. They twirled and hissed with such speed you would think you were staring at a few fireworks gone wrong.

Finally a third shadow joined in the fight. Not a minute later they all fell to the floor. The clouds unfolded into human like figures on the floor. Once the black smoke cleared I could tell exactly who it was.

James, Bryant, and Jase. All of them laying in that order on the floor with scratches and bruises covering their whole body, at least from what I could see. Their blood scattered darkly, and much too black to be like any blood I had ever seen.
