Grey smoke and a cigarette

Youeun entered the room, informing them that she had told Veronica where they were going. She also had a £20 note for Caine, as they hadn't processed the will left by his mum and dad yet.

They walked as group into town; Caine, Jordan, Alex, Andreas, Carlos, Youeun and surprisingly Adrianna. Alex skipped along, her electric blue hair vibrant against the grey of the small town. Each house was built in Tudor style, making Caine feel as though he were travelling back in time, if it weren't for the cars and people in suits. Jordan's black and rust coloured hair blended in perfectly, his dark clothes and eyeliner the only things that singled him out. Caine heard the whine of a car engine, struggling up hill and people yelling to each other from either side of the street. Smoke rose from chimneys and the smell of exhaust got stronger as they walked in single file along the side of the road.

It was so devoid of colour that Caine thought this town must be colourblind. Each person carried a monochromatic brolley in their hands except Alex, who's entire being screamed 'different'.

The group walked together until Caine spotted a video game shop. He scanned the sign and realised that they had the exact game he'd had his eye on for months. Luckily for him, Jordan told the others that he'd meet them in the park in two hours, as he wanted to show Caine around. The others continued except for Adrianna who happily walked next to Caine.

"I didn't realise you liked stuff like this..."Caine said, thinking he'd been wrong to judge her upon meeting her so early.

"Adrianna's a keen gamer. No one can beat her at microtones V. No one. " Jordan said.

"That game sucks so bad. Over six/Ten is 100 times better." Caine scoffed.

Adrianna batted her eyes at Caine, "That's because it's for beginner gamers. Like you"

Caine gritted his teeth as Jordan snorted. They argued about which game was better until a bored looking cashier motioned for them to be quieter. Jordan stifled his laughter and Caine and Adrianna ceased their argument.

"How much is Over six/Ten II?" Caine asked at the desk.

"£40. Student discount I'm guessing?" The cashier eyeballed Caine. "Then that would be £33."

Caine's heart sank, but Jordan sidled up to him. "I'll pay for him, it's cool. "

When they left the shop, Adrianna with a new controller and Caine with his new game, he questioned Jordan as to why he paid for him since he couldn't do anything back in return.

"My parents don't want me starving. They still think I'm on the streets. They uh.. Send me money now and again." He shrugged. His black eyes grew round as he looked at something behind Caine.
"Each time we go past you say you want a piercing or tattoo." Adrianna groaned.

"I want one now. Tattoo or piercing? You can repay me by choosing which one." Jordan said, excitedly.

"Tattoo. But a small one in case you regret it. " Caine said.

"Piercing it is." Jordan said promptly striding to the tattoo and piercing parlour. Caine looked confusedly at Adrianna.

"He chooses the opposite of what you say. I don't know why..." She shook her head in exasperation.

The three walked into the parlour, which smelled strongly of cigarettes and (in Caine's opinion) seemed a very dodgy place. Adrianna held Caine's arm, and batted her eyes at every burly, tattooed man in the shop she passed. A particularly rough looking guy, with a green serpent trailing up his arm, wiped his hands on a rag and marched over to them through the smoke haze.
