Secret Promises

Chapter eight:

A Short Time Past Noon

*Travis knocks on Katelyns door, she slowly swings it open, nervous at the figure in front of her*

Katelyn: Hey Travis...

Travis: HEY

Katelyn: So are you done "Setting up"?

Travis: Yes my Princess, I have planned out the whole Evening

*Katelyn walks out the front door, closing it behind her. She slides down to the second step of the stairs leading down her porch. She plants her self on the step and sighs. Travis approaches and sits next to her*

Travis: you okay?...I thought you'd be alittle more excited

*Kaitlyn leans over and puts her head on Travis shoulder*

*Travis blushes*

Kaitlyn: I don't know about this Travis

*Travis slips his arm around her*

Katelyn: W-What are you doing?

*Travis laughs gently*

Travis: I don't know -he says jokingly-

*Katelyn punches lightly him in the side with a smile*

Travis: Ow

Katelyn: Heh, you asked for that one

*They both start laughing*

*Travis Stands up and extends his arm out towards Katelyn's lifting her up off the step*

Travis: You ready to go? I think you'll find yourself enjoying this one

Katelyn: Y-Yeah, I think I'm ready

*He smiles*

*she smiles*

Travis: Let's go then!

10 Minutes Later At The Park

*Travis takes Katelyn to a spot next to a big old oak tree where there is a white blanket and rose scented candles lit and sprawled all around*

Travis: Well, here we are!

Kaitlyn: Travis....this is a lot for just a friendly outing, but it's beautiful!!!

*Travis blushes*

Travis: Not as beautiful as you...

*Katelyn blushes*

Kaitlyn: S-So what did you bring for lunch? ...I'm starving.

*Travis laughs and then lifts the picnic basket up to her face, opening it at the speed of lightning*

Travis: TACOS OF COURSE!!!

*Katelyn looks at the mountain of Tacos Travis has packed into the picnic basket, there must have been at least 30 tacos in there*

*Katelyn laughs*

Katelyn: I'm guessing you really like tacos

*Travis pulls out and stuffs two tacos in his mouth at once*

Travis: Mhmmmmmm

*Katelyn laughs at his puffed cheeks full of food, she blushes in awe of how adorable Travis can be sometimes*

Travis: well...he swallows...now that you know what my favorite thing to eat is, what is yours?

Katelyn: I love all foods, I'm not very particular or picky

*Katelyn grabs a taco and munches it down, Travis stuffs two more in his mouth after her*

*they both laugh, their mouths full of food*

Katelyn: These tacos are really good Travis

Travis: Thanks, me and my dad used to make them all the time when I was younger...so you could say I've had a lot of time to perfect their elements of taste...haha....but anyways...Katelyn...can I ask you a ques-

*Lucinda sees Katelyn and Travis from a distance and approaches quickly, now standing next to Travis in interruption*

Travis: HEY, LUCINDA!, how have you been girl? it's been a while...Did you want a taco, we've got plenty

*Lucinda smiles at Travis's friendly gesture*

Lucinda: Awe, aren't you just the cutest, thank you Travis but I'm good

*Travis shrugs at Lucinda and picks up two more tacos*

Travis: Well while you're here we should catch up, why don't you take a seat with us for a little while?

Lucinda: Hmmmmmm

*Lucinda looks away from Travis and darts a threatening look at Katelyn who has been throwing her eyes of knives at her since she got there*

Lucinda: She grins at Katelyn A few minutes can't hurt I guess.

Travis: Perfect!

*Travis stands up to grab Lucinda's hand and walks her over to a spot next to Katelyn*

Travis: Here Lucinda, you can sit here out of the sun next to Katelyn

*Katelyn scrunches her face, giving Lucinda a hateful look*

Katelyn: Grrrr

Lucinda: Oh I'm sorry Katelyn, did I interupt your date with Travis?

Katelyn: IT'S NOT A DATE

*Lucinda snickers*

Lucinda: Then why are you under and tree alone with Travis surrounded by candles?

Katelyn: Oh you're so going to get it now

*Katelyn launches herself at Lucinda and Lucinda fights back throwing the first punch*

Travis: Ladys Ladys!!!...There's plenty of Travis to go around...hehe

*Lucinda pushes Katelyn off of her and quickly applies lipstick containing love potion in it to her lips, she crawls her sore body over to Travis and plants her lips hard against his, kissing him*

*Travis falls over onto his side at her release, slowly lifting his head*

Travis: Oh my Irene...L-Lucinda, My love!

Katelyn: Travis!!?!??

*Kaitlyn begins to feel a burning sensation in her chest, her heart races and tears begin to form in her eyes. Heart break begins to consume her*

Kaitlyn: What was I thinking?!?!? Liking Travis?!?!? THAT IDIOT DOESN'T LOVE ME, HE ACTS LIKE THIS AROUND ALL GIRLS. He's just a flirty pervert who plays with girls emotions...I should have known.

*She runs out of the park and all the way home. Shedding a few tears along the way*

Back at the park

*Lucinda snaps her fingers once she sees the Katelyn has left the entrance of the park. The potion wears off immediately, causing Travis to fall over onto his side again. He sits up slowly with his hand on his face, it now pounding in pain *

Travis: L-Lucinda...W-What happened?

*He looks around him, noticing that he's alone now with just Lucinda who is smiling through her recent victory with Katelyn*

Travis: LUCINDA!! WHERE'S KATELYN?!?!

Lucinda: Oh, I don't know, probably on her way back home, but does it really matter? She's gone and you've got me now so let's get back to where we were, shall we?

*Lucinda takes a taco out of the basket and places it in Travis's hand*

Lucinda: Alright, So. What have you been up to lately.

*Travis looks down at the ground in a trance, whispering to himself*

Travis: That was my last chance...

*He drops his taco: meat, lettuce, cheese, and all. Now staining the whiteness of the blanket that lay there under him*
