Happiness is Key

{About Five Years Later}

You smiled as Lukas drove the car closer and closer to your home.

For the last four years, you had been at (college) and rarely got to visit home. Of course, you and Lukas just graduated a few days ago and just flew back to (hometown).

You were so busy with college that you only got to fly back home three times in all those four years. And now here you were, pulling back into your driveway with your boyfriend.

It felt like the two of you had gone through everything together, since the two of you had been dating for the past five years. In all that time you never grew sick of him, but you did fall more and more in love.

"Oh Lukas," you said to him as he parked the car.

Before he got the chance to answer, your parents ran out of your house. They were not alone, but were accompanied by Berwald, Tino, and Emil. The sight of the five of them made you so happy that you ran out of the car and ran as fast as you could to them.

"{Y/n}!" Your mother called out to you, (e/c) eyes gleaming with so much pride. During your college career, you focused really hard on what you wanted to do in the future and you succeeded earning an amazing (subject) degree! You were always at the top of your classes and it paid off so much since as soon as you graduated you were offered a job almost right away, which you gladly accepted.

Lukas, of course, was almost in the same situation. He took different classes, but he also scored highly and was at the top of his classes. He had always had an interest in nature and he graduated with a phD in earth sciences.

He was proud of you, as you were proud of him. Even through all of the busy schedules that college brought, your relationship with him only grew more.

You smiled at the six people gathered around you. You knew that only one knew a secret that you had and you were longing to tell them.

"Mother! Father! Berwald! Tino! Emil!" You called out to gather their attention. "Lukas and I are engaged!"

As you expected, all of them stared at you in disbelief. They hadn't expected you to get married so soon, although you and Lukas were 22 and 23 respectively.

Once the shock faded away, Emil's face contorted in confusion.

"So have you two decided where you are moving?" Emil said, loosening his face a bit.

"Yes," you said, trying not to look too excited. "I got offered a job in Italy and it shouldn't be difficult for Lukas to find one, too."

"Really?!" Tino called out.

"Oh {Y/n}, that's great," your father said, giving you a hug.

"So you're taking the job, right?" Your mother pried.

"Yes, I am," You said, "It pays well and it's in a beautiful yet inexpensive area!"

"Oh, that's wonderful! Can we visit you?" She asked you.

"Yes, mother, both you and father can visit. So can you three," you looked over to the three other men.

"But we will be living in an apartment for the first few months," Lukas added.

Your father laughed, "We all know that you're very loud, {Y/n}, don't upset your neighbors."
