I grumble profanity under my breath as I roll over in bed before getting up to walk across the room to turn off my alarm clock. I ignore the urge to walk back to bed and stand in front of my closet. Today is a special day.
No, it isn't my birthday or anyone's for that matter, but no matter what I couldn't shake off the feeling. I carefully take out my beige skater dress- the soft fabric brushing against my skin- placing it on my bed. I take out my brown gladiator flats and place it at the foot of the bed. I smile at my outfit and made my way to the bathroom.
Fifteen minutes later I emerge from the bathroom my wet hair dripping onto the wooden floor. Once I enter my room I towel it dry. I straighten my hair, taming the frizzy strands, then pull it up into a high ponytail. I gingerly attach a brown bow on that matched with my sandals.

I had spent too much time doing my make up so breakfast was quick and light. Only consisting of the fruit salad mom prepared to go along with the pancakes she made. Upon seeing my choice of clothing she had smiled and asked what the big occasion was, to which I answered with the shake of my head. She smirked.
The drive to school was great, I lip synced to the lyrics of whatever song blared out the speakers. My grin was so big, not even the view of the shabby school building could deflate it. I grabbed my purse and my oversize binder and got out the car locking it.
Today I was determined to not let anything drag me down.
