(Picture is Syrun. :) )
My throat was burning. I picked up my phone off my floor and texted Syrun.
'Meet me outside in a few minutes?'
I tossed my phone on my bed and started stuffing what was left of my stuff
into an old bag. I slipped on my favorite pair of shoes and slung
the bag over my shoulder. I was serious this time. I was going to leave,
and I wouldn't be back. Quietly, I opened the front door and stepped outside.
The breeze made my black colored hair dance across my shoulders.
Syrun approached me and instantly when he saw my red cheek, his eyebrows furrowed and a look of hurt passed through his brown eyes.
"Storm." He croaked, "Are you alright?"
I was sure he already knew the answer, but I answered anyways.
"Fine," I said, "I can't talk long. I'm leaving."
He gently touched my cheek and I winced holding it in pain.
"Sorry." He mumbled.
After a while of silence as he looked me over, he finally said, "Leaving? You can't leave, Storm. I know your mom is horrible but you can't just-"
I cut him off, "Sure I can."
"Where? Storm..." He trailed off running a hand through his bangs. I found he only
did that when he was nervous. It was one of his habits. I was going to miss that.
"Anywhere but here." I simply stated tightening the grip I had on my bag.
I needed to leave. I couldn't stay here any longer. Not even for him.
I couldn't deal with the pain anymore. It hurt too much. No matter how much
Syrun meant to me, I couldn't do it.
To be honest, I didn't know where I would go, Where I'd stay, I'd find some where,
but first, I had to actually get out of here.
I smiled weakly at him.
"I'm sorry Syrun."
"No, Storm. I can take you some place, I can help you we can leave.. together."
"Your mom and Vincent," I whispered, "You can't leave and you know it."
"I'd find a way." He mumbled, "For you."
"Syrun, please." I said looking away. "I need to go, alone."
He took my hand in his and kissed my cheek, the one that wasn't red and bruised.
"I love you, Stormy." He whispered.
"I love you too, Sy." I breathed. "I promise I'll call soon..?"
"You better."
"Tell Vincent and Izzy I love them."
He only nodded then pulled me into a hug. "Be safe.."
"Promise." I said trying my best not to cry.
I pulled away and smiled one last time before I slipped behind my house
to a short cut through the woods.
