Chapter 6- Normality

3 weeks later:
Clarkes p.o.v:
The day has finally come, the day I go back to work after getting hurt. I wake up at 5:50 am and get up and have a shower before getting dressed. Once dressed I go downstairs and have breakfast, after breakfast I get my work bag ready. I put in 2 extra uniforms and my wash kit. Once my bag is ready I slip on my shoes, grab my phone and keys before heading out to my car. When I get to my car I sling my bag onto the passenger seat before hopping into the drivers seat. I start up the engine and start to drive towards the firehouse. I arrive 15 minutes later. When I get there I grab my bag and head inside.

"Hey look who it is!" Hermann says walking over to me, everyone else following. " Hey Clarke how you feeling?" "Im great, ready to get back to normal" I say smirking. "Thats great" Hermann says, patting my shoulder as I head towards the locker room to change out.

Chases p.o.v:
My time back on Squad was short lived but im happy that Clarke is back and im extremely happy that the whole me and Riley, girlfriend/boyfriend thing is really working out. Im happy that our feeling are out there, even if it doesnt work out, I think I'll always feel this way about Riley. I grab 2 cups of coffee, from the coffe machine, before heading out to the ambo to help Riley re-stock. "Hey, I come bearing coffee!" I say smiling, making her giggle. "Thanks babe" she says taking the coffee before giving me a quick kiss. Me and Riley arent really telling everyone that we're dating now but we arent really being secretive about it either, so people aeound the house are just finding out whenever. Although we did tell chief, just in case it was a problem, which its not.
'Ambulance 61, person in distress, 21st Police District.' "Thats our que! Lets roll" We both hop out the back, shut the doors and get in to front, Riley gets into the drivers seat.

Detective Jay Haltsteads p.o.v:
The paramedics arrive, and god I am happy to see who it is. "Oh, thank god, its you 2! It Erin come on shes up here" I say buzzing open the gate and leading Chase and Riley up to intelligence. "What happened?" Chase says kneeling down next to Erin. "Ermm...I dont know one minute we were talk and then the next minute she just said she felt dizzy then she collapsed" at this point they were taking her vitals and outting her on oxygen and of course I was a wreck seeing the love of my love so vunerable. "Shes okay and stable but we need to get her to hospital to get her checked out, has she woken up since she collapsed?" "Emm....no..no I dont think so what wrong with her Chase?" I ask as the place an IV." Jay I dont know but I dont think its anything serious be we need to take her to get checked out okay?" "Okay" I say trying to calm myself. "Okay Jay, Im going to need your help getting her out of here, can you carry her down to the ambo?" "Yeah sure" I say bending down and picking her up in my arms. Chase carrys the IV and oxygen whilst Riley goes to move the ambo because we decided to take her out the back for some privacy. When we get out the back dowmstairs, I lay her down on the gourney and help load her up before I turn to the others and say, " Guys stay here work the cases, I'll go with her and call you minute I know anything okay? Its what she'd want". They nod and I turn around a climb into the ambulance shutting the doors as we head towards chicago med.

"Erin, baby come on open your eyes, its time to wake up now" I say to her holding her hand, trying desperately to get her to wake up. After about 15 minites or so after leaving leaving the district, the ambulance come to a steady stop and the back doors swing open. The wisk Erin off and Im left standing by the ambulance, looking like a lost puppy. I dont know how long ive been stood there but I suddenly feel a hand on my shoulder and look up to see my brother, Dr Will Halstead, stamding in front of me. "Hows Erin?" "Jay shes okay, shes awake and asking for you" with that he takes me tomher room. When I get there I walk inside and walk over to bed, I kiss her forehead before asking, "Hey, how you feeling" "Okay I guess" her voice is croaky and she looks quite pale compares to normal. A few minutes later Will walks in. "Hey so Ive got your test results and I think we know what made you faint. Erin you pregnant" 

I stand there, and my knees feel like they're going to buckle I turn to Erin, who is just sitting there still in shock. She then says to me, "Jay, we're having a baby!" The biggest smiles spread across our faces and a feel a tear slide down my face. "Im so excited baby, I know that eveything is going to be fine, im gunna go phone the guys, if they ask should I tell them or they're just going to worry?" "Tell them but call Voight and hell tell them, he has to know first" with that I leave the room to go phone Voight.
