Warning this chapter contains content that might make you want to cry so beware. This is one of the sad one shots I was referring to in my first chapter, Notice. So yeah, you have been warned.

Dream sequence/memory

It was a peaceful day on the small street in the middle of kaon. A bit too peaceful. Suddenly the sound of a hovercycle could be heard as a yellow and black youngling sped away from his house. His expression was full of terror as he tried, for the third time that week to escape his caretaker Lockdown. His creators had abandoned him when he was a sparkling and Lockdown took him in. Not because he cares though. It was more so he could have an excuse for his crimes and technically speaking, a slave. Bumblebee was covered in scratches, dents and scorch marks. There was at least something new each day.
"BUMBLEBEE!!" He heard Lockdown calling after him and his tone of voice being used was absolutely horrifying. He immediately puts the pedal to the metal as he speeds down his street desperately trying to either make it to his friend Icefire's house or to the police station. Lockdown had surprisingly let Bumblebee attend an Academy. Unfortunately he's only allowed to go two days a week instead of all five. That's how he met Icefire. It's also how he met Brawn. Long story short Brawn is a bully and has a thing where Bumblebee is his main target. Mostly cause he's smaller than him, in his mind weaker (which isn't true) and he doesn't have the best family background. As he sped down the street he received glares from his neighbours. Lockdown had convinced them that Bumblebee was just a very badly behaved youngling but that wasn't true. He'd never done anything wrong. But they all thought he did. He could hear them talking about him as he sped past them. They would say things like "oh there's that good for nothing youngling again running off" or "what is wrong with him Lockdown does such a good job at taking care of him". And guess what? It pisses Bumblebee off. Today was different though. Bumblebee managed to make it farther away from his house before Lockdown noticed today. Why? Let's just say that Lockdown enjoys dealing cybertronian drugs. Bumblebee found his stash and poisoned him. Lockdown had passed out but woke up by the time Bumblebee was about 3 kliks from his house which is pretty far. As he drove his bike, he called his friend Icefire.
"Icy, you gotta help me." He says into the comm link they had set up with each other.
"Bee, this is the third time this week! He'll have you locked in that fragging basement of yours for years!" He says, worry for his friend clear in his voice.
"Yeah I know but I can't stay there! And I actually made it somewhere this time." He says a little excited. He can tell that his friend was rolling his optics based on the silence on the other side.
"Really? How far did you make it this time? 0.1 kliks?" He asks. Bumblebee laughs.
"Nope. 3 kliks." He says. More silence. But this time, out of shock. Finally his friend spoke up again.
"Dude, you're pulling my leg. Right?" He asks. Bumblebee smiles.
"Nope. I actually got 3 kliks away before he realized I was gone. I think I might actually make it!" He exclaims excitedly.
"What'd you do to achieve it?" Icefire asks. Bumblebee goes quiet for a moment, unsure whether or not to tell his friend the truth.
"I was just really quiet is all." He answers. Icefire was about to respond when in the background he heard Lockdown practically shrieking Bumblebee's name in anger. This was the scariest tone Bumblebee had ever heard him use before so he was desperate to make it somewhere this time.
"How close is he?" Icefire asks. Bumblebee glances over his shoulder to, thankfully not see anyone.
"Not close enough for me to see him." He responds. In the background he could hear his friend sigh out of relief.
"Listen, Icy. Is it okay for me to hide at your place? I need somewhere to go and I'm worried my bike will run out of juice before I make it to the police station." Bumblebee asks.
"Yeah of course dude!" Bumblebee smiles slightly at his friend's response.
"Thanks. Here, just wait for me for about a half hour. If I'm not at your place by that time you can assume that Lockdown either caught up to me or I made it to the police. Okay?" He asks his friend.
"Okay." His friend answers before hanging up. Bumblebee takes a deep breath and speeds up slightly. As he turns a corner on the street he collides into another bot. He falls off his bike and lands on the ground, hard. He crashed into Brawn, the bot he hates most other than Lockdown.
"Hey watch it, twerp!" He yells. Bumblebee rolls his optics.
"Sorry Prawn, I'm in a bit of a hurry right now." He says. (Prawn is his nickname for Brawn incase you thought that was a typo). He jumps up and lands on his bike seat to find out it ran out of gas.
"Already?! Frag!" He shouts as he kicks the bike. It doesn't even belong to him, Lockdown stole it so he wouldn't have to drive Bumblebee to the academy since he's not old enough to be driving in his alt mode yet. He decides that instead of standing there panicking, that he'd run the rest of the way. He can't risk getting caught. Not this time. He goes off to the side of the street and into a more blocked off area from sight so if Lockdown catches up he won't, or at least shouldn't be seen. Not too long later, he runs up to Icefire's house. He runs up the steps and knocks on their door. It slides open and Icefire quickly pulls him inside just as they hear Lockdown calling his name again.
"Dude! 29 nano cycles! You cut it way too close this time." He says. Bumblebee rolls his optics.
"On the bright side, I made it at all." He says. Icefire nods then looks to the front of his home.
"Where's your bike?" He asks. Bumblebee remembers the encounter with Brawn and shrugs.
"I crashed and it ran out of gas." He says. Icefire nods again.
"Well, that would explain the cut on your fore helm." He points out. Bumblebee never noticed any cut so he put his servo to his fore helm. He felt the cut that he never even knew existed.
"Oh. I never noticed it." He says, slightly confused. Just then Icefire's carrier walks into the room.
"Oh hello Bumblebee, I didn't know you were coming today." She says. Icefire goes up to her and whispers something in her ear. She nods and smiles at Bumblebee.
"Well, you can stay here for as long as you need to." She kindly says. Bumblebee smiles back.
"Thanks." He says. She nods and returns to the kitchen where she had previously been.
"Come on Bee, let's go upstairs." Icefire says. Bumblebee nods and just as they get up the stairs, there's a knock on the door. This one sounding a bit, violent. They hear the door open and someone storm in.
"Where is he?!" Lockdown all but shouts. Bumblebee's optics widen in horror.
"Scrap, he knows I'm here!" Bumblebee says, worry laced in his voice. His friend pulls his arm and directs him to an opening through the wall.
"Crawl through, I'll follow you. It leads down into the kitchen out of sight from the front entrance. We can escape through the back." He says. Bumblebee nods and begins to crawl through the vent. Icefire made sure no one saw him and then followed Bumblebee. Just as he crawls out of sight, he hears pede steps come up the stairs. He looks back to see its just his carrier.
"Icefire?" She silently calls. He pokes his head out from the vent.
"Carrier I'm right here." He says. Her expression goes from worried to relieved. He tells her about how him and Bumblebee were escaping through the back. She nods and goes back down the stairs to tell Lockdown that they weren't in the house anymore. Which, in a couple of moments will be true.
"Dude, I thought you abandoned me." Bumblebee says. Icefire rolls his optics and shakes his helm.
"No, my carrier needed to know where we were." He says. Bumblebee nods his helm and they run off.
