"Maaaa. Why are you making me go? It says optional right here." Devin points at the paper in frot of his mother.

"To be honest, I don't care whether or not it's an option. Your going." Shana told her son. Devin knew right there that it was no longer an option.

He was low-key scared because for one, He would be away from Alexis for too long and two, what 15 year old wants to go to summer camp?

He sighed and left up to his room.

"Hey boo," her voice said over the phone. I could tell she was smiling.

"Wassup. Look I gotta tell you something." I told her, adding seriousness in my tone.

"Oook. Are you good?" she asked, concerned.

"Yea. It's just my ma is making me go to this stupid ass summer camp. And I'm leaving in three days." I sighed. I really didn't wanna go for many reasons.

"Oh. Why?"

"How would I know? I don't wanna go buh it's not a discussion." I mimicked her.

Her beautiful laugh sounded in my ears. I was gonna miss it. Did I forget to mention it's 2 and a half weeks with no phones 😊 .

"Ima miss you so much bae, why don't you just run away for two weeks?" This girl must be crazy.

"Girl, do you not know my mother, sisters, and father?" I asked her incredulous.

"Boy im just playing. I'll be alright."
I could tell she was pouting.

"I'm sorry baby. I'll see you before I leave though." I didn't want to, but I had to leave. Why my mom gotta be so mean?

I hear a honk outside and I know it's my mom coming to drop me off at the summer camp about 2 hours away.

"Alright baby, I gotta go." I stood up from her bed the same time she did.

She extended her arms to hug me, and ik embraced her, smelling her natural scent that drove me crazy.

"I'm a miss you." I said in her ear. "I'm a miss you too." She whispered. I pulled away and kissed her with all I had.

We got a little carried away and she honked honked a second time.

She giggled and pushed me," Good Devin."

" Alright, see ya baby."

"See ya."
