The wind blew harshly against the small house, snow fell down like a thousand soft pellets from a gun firing from the heavens above as your window burst open for the uptinth time tonight. You sigh, as you got out of your warm comfy bed again and shut the window close. No matter how many times you tried to close it, even lock it, it would always find a way to open again keeping you awake, and you were exhausted.

Hours ago you, John, Mulligan, Lafayette, and Alexander had arrived at the little cottage in the middle of the woods you'd spend every winter in as a child. The journey was long and boring, but at long last you were happy to rest your head on a soft pillow in your old room. That was until the wind picked up, and you couldn't go back to sleep.

You're eyes were droopy and you began to fall asleep again...

"Mommy!"  You cried, "Mommy the weather is keeping me awake!" You quietly said at your mother's side of the bed trying not to wake up your sleeping father.

Your mother smiled softly and swooped your small form into her arms and she stood up and walked out if her room, "It's ok my child," she said, "you'll be alright, the weather won't get to you." She sat down in a comfy chair and held you in her arms, stroking a hand through your hair and humming a soft toon.

You began to fall asleep and smiled, "Mommy."

  "Yes my child?"

  "I love you..."

  "I love you too."

BOOM!

You open your eyes from your peaceful slumber and you groan as you got up to close your window again. I wonder if anyone else is still awake. You thought to yourself. Knowing that you probably couldn't go back to sleep you got up and lit a lantern and ventured out into the dark empty halls of the cabin.

Memories of you and John running around as kids flooded your mind. You smiled to yourself, so many memories in this small little cabin, both good and bad.

You turned a corner and accidentally dumped into a tall figure knocking the lamp out of your hands and it smashed onto the floor making the halls dark again.

"Mon cheri, you surprised me." Lafayette said softly.

"Laf what are you doing up?" You asked.

"I was going to check if you were still up because of the weather, what about you?"

  "Same here." You smiled.

You felt Laf's hand snake into yours, "let's go back to bed Ma cheri." He lead you into his room. It was much quieter in there, since his room was on the other side of the house. The wind's noise was soft and there were no annoying windows bursting open at random.

Lafayette smiled at you and climbed into his bed, you followed, pulling the covers over the two of you. Lafayette blew the out a nearby candle, the light quickly died out in almost a second and it was pitch black.

You laid there for a moment then felt a pair of strong arms wrap around your body, swooping you up and pulling you into a big hug. You smiled and scooted closer to Lafayette, breathing in his sent. He smelled like of a deep wood aroma, and a hint of oriental spice. He started stroking your hair light and hummed softly. The feeling of sleep took over you and then it was dark.

The next day you were awoken with the smell a sweet smell and the cold air in the room. You rubbed your eyes slowly then looked to the side of the bed. Empty. Laf was already awake. You sighed, debating on wether or not you should get up. Having made up your mind and realizing you were too wide awake to go back to sleep you got out of bed.
