It had been a few months after the Lord of Phoenix Drop had made me a guard. Two more months and he had made me the head guard (since Dale just kept getting drunk). And on this day, three weeks after he had made me head guard, a arrow was stuck. Deep in his chest, right where his heart was. Killing him instantly.
His wife and kid had gone somewhere, as if they had disappeared. No one knows where to. Not even me. And they call me a guard. Not only that but the head guard.
Zenix, a man who I had taken under my wing, has told me not to worry about it. But how could I not, their son, not even a month old, was supposed to be the next lord.
I'm a horrible head guard. Not only have I let my lord die but I've lost the next one as well.
I felt like crying but in an instant I didn't, I had no idea why I would want to cry either. Today was just a normal day, wasn't it?
